Situated within the Santa Ana Riverbed, River View Golf Course is conveniently located just minutes from Disneyland, Anaheim, and Long Beach. The course's design intertwines with the river, providing challenging hazards on several holes. The narrow layout also features elevated greens that rarely offer a flat lie and are fiercely guarded by sand. Accuracy is a necessity throughout this golf course. Although it offers a fair amount of challenges, there is also ample room off the tees that makes the course more accessible for beginners. River View G.C. is also popular for its practice facilities, which include a driving range with targets and the county's largest putting course. While the other facilities may be modest, River View offers an affordable game that is one of Orange County's best values.

Good greens, bad everything else
This course is downright dangerous. No protections for people walking along the course. You can easily hit balls into people hitting on the driving range from the 18th tees. This course is uncared for - fairways are dead all over the place, many cart paths are dirt, quality of sand is garbage, lots of ditches and dead zones that you continually have to cross. The holes are all on top of each other and tee boxes are very exposed to people hitting onto the green on the previous hole. Greens are in good shape though - but everything else is terrible. Not worth the 45 dollars it costs to play here.

Slow pace of play
Everything was great except I paid $50 to have a 5 hour pace of play. Left at hole 15. Two parties waiting to tee off at one hole took up to 20 minutes. Course should considering booking less tee times. Not fair to overbook so course can make a few extra bucks. Everything else was great though. Nice greens and friendly staff.
Nice round
We had a good round at River View today. 8:54 tee time and actually got off a few minutes early. My twosome was paired up with a single. With the extra par threes on this course we did wait a minute or two on many tee boxes, but still got around in just over 4 hours. Very reasonable. Staff was very friendly and COVID protocols were in place. Only complaint would be about the course layout: felt a little cramped in crossing over the river multiple times, and did have two errant shots land on a tee box as we were teeing off. One came right through our cart- scary! But overall a nice place to play.
Fun, challenging, quirky
We had a blast, it’s an interesting lay out, good walking course, a mess in some spots, tee boxes a mess but for $30 to walk it’s hard to beat. And it was jammed but still finished in 4 1/2 hrs.
Waste of Time
This is the worst golf course I think I've ever played. The course is in terrible condition. The layout is awful. I'm not even sure I would call them fairways. The dirt river bank runs basically through the middle of the course. Overall, it was a terrible experience.
I'll NEVER play this course again. Course conditions are horrible! Only thing that was good was the pace of play. If you have nice golf clubs I do not recommend you play here.
