October fun
Both my son and I had a very good round. He shot one under his best round here. I shot my average. The course is in ok shape. The tee boxes and fairways are a little beat up on some holes. The greens are in great condition. Overall the course is in ok shape for October.
Too slow
Very slow pace of play. The group in front of us had 5 people playing.
Terrible greens
The course layout is ok, the course looks pretty beat up and the greens were horrible. Not sure if this is because of an uptick in the amount of golf being played now due to the pandemic or it being the eland of summer. I would like to come back in the spring and see what the course conditions are then.
First birdie for my son
My son finally got his first birdie. He has only been playing for a year. The course is in really good shape. Some tee boxes are a bit sandy, no grass. The greens are in great shape. Pace of play was good. Overall we had a great time and look forward to next week. Hope to see you on the course.
Another fun day
Had a fun day with my son. The greens are in great shape. Fairways are a little beat up but playable. Tee boxes for the most part are ok. This course is always fun to play, especially with my son.
Reserved tee-time was not in the system.
My reservation was not in their system, but they gave me a later tee time. When the single grouped with threesome did not show up, I was allowed to play at the booked tee-time. Not sure if the last name was mixed up, but it was inconvenient to say the least.
Better than any other local short course
The green complexes are vastly superior to pretty much all the local 9 holes around. The greens were rolling pretty well and the fairways were mostly looking pretty healthy. I have always thought this course was pretty decent. They even have a bunker guy which is more than most 18 hole courses can say around here.
Over-priced for an average 9-hole course
Average rating. I wouldn’t pay full price to play here. I found a hot deal off GolfNow for $14.
My Favorite Course
It is mostly my favorite because I live two lights away,
But I have to say the staff is always friendly and the course/greens are always in good shape. Before Covid there was rarely slow play. Now with more people playing the play/wait is more or less average. The new food outfit is good. Nice to relax and have a cold one after. I will invite both good and not so good golfers to play with me here. If you are not playing well, it is over soon.
Peace!
Great Short Game Practice
First time there per a GolfNow Hotdeal and it was well worth the money. Tee boxes could be leveled a bit better and repaired but the fairways were great and the rough was cut evenly but not too difficult to play out of. The greens were in good shape but players should repair divots as I was constantly repairing to get a decent line to the cup. I liked the practice green next to the first tee so you had something to do while waiting. Overall an excellent short course and would be great for beginners or more experienced players looking to work on their short game. The complaints people had about the staff I feel were unfounded as I heard all staff interaction with customers pleasant and patient due to a busy weekend.
Fairways a little thin
The course overall is in good condition. However there are a few thin spots on the fairways. The greens are in great condition. Tee boxes are ok. I play here once a week so the course conditions don't affect me very much. I would recommend that you try out this course if you haven't played here before. Very fun place to play.
Sylvan Oasis?
Pruneridge is a great place to catch a quick afternoon nine. I enjoy trying to shape shots around overhanging trees in this sylvan oasis hidden at the confluence of Saratoga Ave and the San Tomas Expressway. My favorite hole is the par-3 5th, sort of a reverse Redan that plays along a row of eucalyptus into a small, shady green protected by left and right bunkers. Hit your putts firm and bring a colored ball specifically for the 300-yard finishing hole; its fairway is always freshly peppered by slices from the adjacent range.
