The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort
About
The King & Prince Golf Course winds through the mature forests and vast salt marshes that are located along the northern coast of St. Simon's Island. The beautifully preserved surroundings offer a glimpse of the native wildlife, which includes ospreys, woodpeckers, and bald eagles. The course offers stunning coastal scenery and a challenging layout. The layout features a more open front nine with more sand while the back nine is characterized by the golf course's trademarks, four island holes that were carved from small coastal marsh island and accessed by elevated cart bridges. Numerous marshes and the vast Butler Lake make an appearance on seven holes. Golfers can warm up before a round on the expansive putting and chipping greens or the driving range, which is equipped with five target greens.

King & Prince is Always Great
The course is beautiful. The weather is beautiful. St. Simons is beautiful. The staff is friendly. The kitchen/bar closes down at 3 PM on Sunday, which I don't understand. That will impact you if you have a 1:30 PM or later tee time. You may not get much for food/drinks at the turn. If someone is there, however, they will try to get you something if they can. Again, the staff is great. The pace of play is generally fine, but it can log-jam every now and again. Overall, this is currently my favorite course to play in the area.
Really enjoyed my round!
I’m just passing through the area and am really happy I decided to play this course. After having played several courses recently that were in very poor condition it was a very pleasant surprise to play a course that was in outstanding condition!
The layout was a very nice mix of tree lined fairways to marshland to water holes, as well as a good mix of hole shapes and distances that made me really focus on my line. I also like that it required me to use every club in my bag, sans 3-wood, which for me is always a metric on how good a course is. The greens were firm and rolled well, today they weren’t super speedy but fast enough where you definitely had to pay attention.
I would definitely play again when in the area!
Will play again
Wonderful course layout among great scenery of watet and marsh land..
Would recommend a cart person or lunch counter staying open later
Golf now had overbooked tee time but luckily at tee box able to work snafu out
Definitely play course again and recommend it
Great course
Stunning views, great condition, great layout. I stay ion Jekyll Island for the winter; try to play K&P a couple of times each year; always a fun experience.
Great layout nice challenge
Course is in great shape range was busy but found a spot with no issues. Nicole in the pro shop was very nice and professional.
Better Than Most
Really enjoyed The King and Prince Golf Course. Course was in excellent condition for the end of February. Pretty tight fairways, but fair and you could score with good ball placement. Accuracy is rewarded. The (3) holes out towards the ocean were neat...a fun stretch with a great visual. Saw and Bald Eagle and Alligator.
A little more expensive, but I thought it was in better shape than some others. Good lies in fairway and greens rolled true and pure. Play this course...Fun and challenging!
