The King & Prince Golf Course winds through the mature forests and vast salt marshes that are located along the northern coast of St. Simon's Island. The beautifully preserved surroundings offer a glimpse of the native wildlife, which includes ospreys, woodpeckers, and bald eagles. The course offers stunning coastal scenery and a challenging layout. The layout features a more open front nine with more sand while the back nine is characterized by the golf course's trademarks, four island holes that were carved from small coastal marsh island and accessed by elevated cart bridges. Numerous marshes and the vast Butler Lake make an appearance on seven holes. Golfers can warm up before a round on the expansive putting and chipping greens or the driving range, which is equipped with five target greens.

Always a pleasure

The course was in tip top shape. The greens were terrific and a joy to putt. The course is not overwhelmingly difficult, but there are a handful of holes that bite back (watch out for #9 in particular). The marsh holes are what make this course unique. Rick Maddox is a gracious host as usual and this course is a joy to play.

Beautiful fall day on SSI. Course was in great shape. Greens smooth and fast. Nice variety of holes with variety of challenges and quite fair overall, especially for average player. Marsh holes second nine quite fun and beautiful as well. Be careful picking your line off the tee on the par 5. You might want to ask the pro shop about it if playing for the first time. Nice lunch in dining room prior. A fine day. Highly recommend.

Very pleasant ambiance

I love this course. The staff is welcoming, the carts are clean, the practice range is convenient, and the starts in my experience are always on time. The fairways and greens are well maintained, but beware of the rough, which are good at hiding balls. Many of the views, particularly across the marshes, are spectacular. Watch out for the gators!

This course is the most well kept course in the area. I play all public courses within a 50 mile radius, and this course is on a different level. The greens are beautiful and roll great...probably around a 10-12 on the stimph meter. Vey nice facility/clubhouse .

I would play there daily if I could.
