About
Ponderosa Golf Course may have a short layout but it features the challenges of a full-length championship course. The golf course sprawls across mountainous terrain that provides plenty of elevation changes throughout. The fairways are lined with towering trees and the greens are undulating, making accuracy a top priority in doing well. There are two dogleg holes and one hole has an elevated green to watch out for. There are also bunkers scattered throughout. The golf course provides excellent short game practice as well as being a great round for beginning to intermediate players. Ponderosa Golf Course also has practice facilities for golfers to use including chipping and putting greens and driving nets.

Had a great time at pondy early season. Got a great rate on golf now. We walked an early morning nine. It was beautiful. The past was quick, we were done in less then two hrs. The greens were a little slow, but that was kinda fun too. Thanks Pondy!
Enjoyable and good price
Great course for the price. Greens recovering from a tough winter. They were a bit slow and bumpy but in remarkably good shape.
Great Deal for Truckee Area
This was a great deal not necessarily because of the golf course or the amenities but more of where the course is (Truckee, Ca.). The course was in a reasonably good condition considering the awesome amount of snow the area has had this past winter. The online TeeOff / GolfNow Pass member deal was exceptional especially since I was able to use one of my monthly award discounts. This is always a great 9 hole to play when in Truckee. Reasonably easy walking experience, one legitimate 5 par, two par 3s the rest par 4s. Check out the online deals especially in the early AM.

Greens were very slow like putting on shag carpet. Fairways are in good shape. Everything is nice and green.
Staff would not honor the greens fees agreement on Golf Now charging us an extra $15 per golfer over the original greens fees. Walking only.
Nice 9 hole course
Lots of fun on this course. conditions on the course were good.
No Better Deal Than This
Great course to play 9. Mostly par 4's which is perfect for my daughter and myself. Scenery is pretty, course is well-kept and easily walkable, except one steep hill on the 3rd hole. I really enjoy playing this course and it's a great value for the money.

Perfect Course for All Players
We played here three times during our vacation. Great for us because it is affordable, three sets of pins, one set was 300 yards, the other was 150-175 yards. As a beginning female player, I appreciate this. Lovely course, good location, good experience. Thanks!
Excellent course
This was my first time playing at Ponderosa golf course. It is a challenging and top notch nine hole course that you will enjoy. The fairways and greens are in great condition! The pace of play at 7am was ideal. The staff is friendly and professional.

Beautiful convenient course to play nine holes
Fun and relaxing golf
This is a fun course for intermediate golfers. There are some long par 4’s and the uphill par 3 is challenging. The fairways are wide and well kept. We played late morning on a holiday and had no problems booking a time. Play was fast and we were allowed out as a twosome. I really enjoyed playing this course.

Course is good for the average golfer. Very relaxed atmosphere. Staff was excellent and really helped in making it a very experience
Will be back next time I visit Donner Lake
Went to Donner Lake for a weekend getaway and wanted to play golf. Found this gem of a course! I must say the fairways and greens were in excellent condition. They just had a new arrigation system put in a year ago and looks like it's really paid off. Fairways were green and luscious and perfectly cut. I didn't have my own clubs so had to rent...$20, which was a bummer and I wish this place was 18 holes! That's my only criticism of this place. I'll definitely be back!
