About
Ponderosa Golf Course may have a short layout but it features the challenges of a full-length championship course. The golf course sprawls across mountainous terrain that provides plenty of elevation changes throughout. The fairways are lined with towering trees and the greens are undulating, making accuracy a top priority in doing well. There are two dogleg holes and one hole has an elevated green to watch out for. There are also bunkers scattered throughout. The golf course provides excellent short game practice as well as being a great round for beginning to intermediate players. Ponderosa Golf Course also has practice facilities for golfers to use including chipping and putting greens and driving nets.

Nice 9 hole coursew
This course offers 9 or 18 holes. They have pull carts and drive carts. Front staff is very friendly. Course recently went through an irrigation upgrade and is much improved over the past few years.
Great value for the money
This is a one of the best night nine hole courses I’ve played that gives you your monies worth it is we’ll maintained and gives you enough of a challenge to keep you coming back.
Public local course Truckee
Course is under repair right now.
So lots of equipment and holes dug up / grass patches.
Staff friendly
Easy course to walk
Nothing fancy, but a great place to play a quick 9 holes for reasonable price compare to the expensive places.
Best family fun
Had a blast playing with my kids.
Low rating on course condition only temporary because irrigation system being redone.
Low amenities score due to Covid 19 restrictions.
Ponderosa Golf Course
Good course for the low price. Some construction on the first two fairways. Greens are a challenge.
Terrible greens
I was so let down after driving 45 minutes to get there. Booked round on golf now and was charged for cart when I got there. Then as I approached the 1st green I could not believe how patchy and bumpy it was. As round continued it was about 6 of 9 greens that were in bad shape. They really need to fix that. Putting was a joke
A great 9 hole practice course in Truckee
I played this course many times with my relatives who live in Truckee. They are slightly worse players than I and its hard to judge your play when you are playing down... There are several holes that make no sense at all like the 3rd hole that is straight up over a road.. making it very hard to hit the green unless you have a 7 wood or hybrid. The main holes are boring and the greens are nicely cared for. All in all I like this course for having a nice time with friends, but its not a course you would get serious over.
