The Club at Savannah Harbor
About
The Club at Savannah Harbor is steeped in Southern charm, offering dramatic views that span from the surrounding wetlands of the Back River to Savannah's famous Historic District. Sam Snead and Bob Cupp designed the golf course. Their ultimate goal was to bring to life the philosophy of "risk and reward." For example, a well executed shot placed near a hazard is rewarded with less club to the green or a better approach angle, or even both. The putting surfaces have gentle transitions to different pin locations, making them more traditional than modern. The designers incorporated another classic design element, the greens have subtle roll-offs or collars that fall away, a feature of golf courses from the 1930s and 40s. Golfers can also use the club's large, duel-ended practice facility.

Late Season Gem
This course is always in great shape and didn't disappoint once again. The course was pristine and lush even in mid-December. They also have great specials all of December so get out there and play!!
A MUST PLAY IN Savannah,GA.
If you're in the Savannah,GA area you must play this course. Its was a little pricey, but worth the cost. The greens were large and the fairways were a beautiful green throughout all 18 holes. We started @ 2:00PM and really didn't expect to finish, but we beat the darkness and played a fun 18 holes in 3.5 hours. The course is both fun and challenging, though the 243yd Par 3 was a bit much from the yellow tees. The staff was friendly and the practice areas were top notch. I will definitely return and recommend this course for the traveling golfer. OBTW, there are alligators on this course, so be cautious near water hazards.
Extremely slow round
I have played this course many times. It is always in excellent condition and is usually a fun (but challenging) course to play. Today though, it took 5 hours to play the round. We knew it would not be a fast round because we teed off after several foursomes but 5 hours was ridiculous and took much of the fun out of the round. The group ahead of us had at least a hole open in front of them the whole round but they never let us play through. We waited on almost every shot. After the round, one of my playing partners made a comment in the pro shop. They said we were playing behind the "general manager" of the resort. If anyone should know proper golf etiquette you would think he would. We will think twice before playing there again. We'd rather go to a course of lesser quality where we can play a round in 4 hours. If you have all day to play, play this course. Otherwise, go someplace else.
Awesome layout great golf course
1st time playing this course, great layout, great staff, everything about this course all that is promoted to be.great shape, only thing was it was cart path only, but it was a great day.probably the best course in the savanna area, its a must play.will be back in January with friends to play it again.
Interesting locale
Heavy over seeding being done and very wet from the last few weeks of heavy rains reduced the amount of enjoyment that could've been had from this tournament quality course. Outstanding views of the Savannah historic waterfront.
a top 100 course
a must play course should be on every golfer's bucket list
Great Golf Course
Totally worth playing,a great setup.Staff very professional and accomodating.Greens were spectacular.
Great First Experience
My wife and I played this course for the first time in September 25. The course was fun, interesting, challenging, and in wonderful condition. Every staff member was friendly and courteous. A truly enjoyable day.
overbooked
the course had a shotgun start tournament that caused us to start on #13 surprised that we were not delayed when we made turn to #1
Rough
Rough was a little to high ball would sit down in it and had a hard time finding the ball . But it is a very nice course and fair
LOVE THIS COURSE BUT, it was way to wet to charge or be open
I live 2 hours from this course. Saw the Golfnow tee time of $38 which included unlimited range balls! So immediately snatched this deal up. Drove up 2 hours early to take advantage of practice facility just to find out it was closed and under water. Shortly after I teed off and found out the entire course was LITERALLY under water. The carts were 90 degree and they got stuck in the fairways. It was so wet water came over my shoes when I address the ball. I love this course! But it was a huge waste this trip and a loss of money which is so disappointing. $38 for golf, 2 hours each way worth of gas, a wasted day off from work and lots of aggravation.
Grip it and rip it
Plays long from the tips. Long ball hitters that avoid the traps are in great shape. This is an excellent course.
Excellent codnition
The course was immaculate. Greens smooth, fast and tricky to read; fairways very good; rough allows the ball to settle down and makes for a very difficult shot.
The course played a bit slow, but the pace of play allowed time to take in the views, which are wonderful.
Great course, but bring bug spray
I played this course early on a Sunday morning. This is a great track. I look for two things in a course...pace of play and good greens. This course is beautiful in all areas, and we got around quickly. I was paired with a local who told us that one area of the course had the most mosquitos per square something or other in the COUNTRY. Lots of fun, lots of wildlife...a great day. Well worth it.
Outstanding Track!
I really enjoy this course - it's always in great shape. This course is challenging and fun to play.
Nice Course, Close to Savannah
Stayed in Savannah and wanted to find a course in the Savannah, Hilton Head area. Course is located just 8 minutes from the Savannah city center, across the bridge.
Course was in great condition from tee to green. They take really good care of the course and ensure that every part of the course is in tip top shape. Found the course to be a very good challenge and test of golf. We played from the gold tees, which made for some very long par 5's. First par 3 was 224! Course can be more difficult if you find your tee shots in the rough. We only saw 2 other pairs of golfers the entire time on the course, which was nice. Makes you feel as if you have the whole course to yourself. Pro shop staff and Bartenders were very nice and professional.
A definite must play if your in the Savannah/Hilton Head area. Will definitely play again.
P.S. Bring bug spray.
Nicest Public Track in Savannah
Despite greens punched last week, the greens rolled extremely true. Great but challenging course. A must play. Good and facilities are first class.
Early Morning Round
Course played like I expected since I live in Savannah - great value using Golfnow
Greens were aireated in the past week but assume in another 1 week will be in great shape
Overall a great course to play
great course-good value
This course was great to play. Fairways were in good shape, although greens had been plugged. This wasn't noted on golf now. Bunkers need drainage and help, especially in an area where summer rains are the norm. Rough deep, stay in fairway or risk losing the ball.
