The Club at Savannah Harbor

About
The Club at Savannah Harbor is steeped in Southern charm, offering dramatic views that span from the surrounding wetlands of the Back River to Savannah's famous Historic District. Sam Snead and Bob Cupp designed the golf course. Their ultimate goal was to bring to life the philosophy of "risk and reward." For example, a well executed shot placed near a hazard is rewarded with less club to the green or a better approach angle, or even both. The putting surfaces have gentle transitions to different pin locations, making them more traditional than modern. The designers incorporated another classic design element, the greens have subtle roll-offs or collars that fall away, a feature of golf courses from the 1930s and 40s. Golfers can also use the club's large, duel-ended practice facility.

One of the nicer courses in the area
Played this course for third time and I love the layout. Really nice views of the harbor. Only four stars due to a few areas of rings on the greens that were in rough shape. Get a hot deal and it’s a great value.
Fantastic golf course
Everything was great. The range was closed so we couldn’t warm up, but that was after a lot of rain as we drove around the course through puddles on the cartpath we understood why it had to be closed. Fantastic fantastic layout great conditions I live in the Lowcountry and this is top three for me.
Great course, poor greens.
I always look forward to playing Savanah Harbour as it
Is the premium course in Savanah Georgia.
I live here for the last 3 years and for the first year Savanah Harbour course redid all their greens . Played after that period of time and the greens were wonderful. Huge greens, fast, and challenging.
Greens are the measuring stick on if the course is great, good, or bad. The greens this visit were terrible. Multiple burnouts, chemical or otherwise were on most green. What happen?
Hopefully the greens crew can save ,fix the greens quickly.
Until then, I'm not going to pay premium prices until the greens are in much better shape.

Thank you for your feedback and loyalty to The Club at Savannah Harbor. We apologize for the current condition of the greens and are committed to restoring them to their previous quality.
Great xourse
Once again enjoyed the Coub At Savannah Harbor. Challenging layout, friendly staff, course amenities such as cart paths, bunkers, water facilities all in excellent shape. Great value!

Thank you for your wonderful review! We're delighted you enjoyed the challenging layout and amenities at The Club at Savannah Harbor.
A little disappointing
Played here last year and based on that experience we returned again this year. We were disappointed to find many of the greens suffering from some kind of round fungus. We were joking that they were Crop Circles. Some greens were worse than others and we found ourselves having to move our putting lines to avoid these unfortunate blemishes. There was no mention of this situation beforehand and we were charged the full rate. It’s a shame really as we did like playing here…

Thank you for returning to The Club at Savannah Harbor, Myles, and for your feedback. We apologize for the condition of the greens and will address this issue to improve your experience in the future.
Great Course, Not-So-Great Pro Shop Host
This was my first time playing the course, so I was excited about getting out. The w8md made the course longer, but I still enjoyed it.
When I arrived, I waited for a short time until the young lady came back to the front desk. After she took a phone call, she said "what do you need," without even looking up at me. I simply told her I booked my round on GolfNow, to which she said, "then you can go ahead."
I've never been to a golf course where I was not greeted or asked if I have played the course before. I didn't know where to go, so I just found my way without assistance.
When I finished, I met the most pleasant gentleman, who cleaned my clubs and drive me to my car. I made sure he received a decent tip, as it was his customer service that would make me visit again.
Very nice day, except....
The girl working the pro shop desk was rude, and uninterested...thot she was on her phone when she was talking to me...tee boxes and fairways were amazing. Rough was deep and tough, and I was not driving well....greens had some sort of fungus, and looked like they has been trod on by atv's....no bueno, but it was only a few of them, and did not affect the whole green. Very well laid out....skinny fairways, nice to have several tees to choose from. Enjoyed the day.
Be sure to bring bug spray!!!! Skeeters are bonkers!

Thank you for your feedback, Jack. We apologize for your experience at the pro shop and the condition of some greens, and we appreciate your comments on the course layout and conditions. We are actively treating the pesky mosquitos!
Fun layout - huge greens - great pace of play
Always wanted to play here. Wife had a conference at the Westin and picked up a twilight round. Teed off around 4pm on a Wednesday and there was hardly anyone on the course which made for a quick round. Was also able to go over on Tuesday and use the practice facilities which is free if you are staying at the resort, so that was a bonus. Everyone in the pro shop was very friendly and helpful. The course was in good shape, the greens looked like they were still recovering from recent maintenance so they weren't the best but still rolled fine.
Nice rounding
It was nice rounding with my friends. But there were many mosquitoes.
Call first for conditions
Always call then first to find out:
State of the mosquito problem, this last week was truly unbelievable.
State of the course (is it wet?) as it can be very soggy and might be CPO
The range is nice.. and does not cost extra.
It's a nice enough layout but the greens are slow and not great.
It's been said before... It's not bad for $40-$50 deal but nowhere near worth the full $120 a round price.

Thank you for your detailed feedback. We apologize for the mosquito issue and the condition of the greens, and we appreciate your insights on the course value.
Not a good value
The greens are just awful. Otherwise the course is nice. It’s probably worth about $35-$40 per round. They’re way overcharging people.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the condition of the greens and will work on improving them to enhance the value of your experience.

Thank you for the five star rating, HeegonKim! We hope to see you at Savannah Harbor again soon!

Thank you for the five star rating, Michael! We hope to see you at Savannah Harbor again soon!
Golf at your own risk! Great track, but unplayable due to mosquitos
I really liked the course. Awesome driving range with free balls and music playing while you warm up. Good size practice green and dedicated chipping area as well. Staff inside at the clubhouse and out on the course were great as well. Cart girl always around when you need her too.
The problem: mosquitos. I have NEVER been bombarded with bugs like this before. They annoy, hurt, draw blood, and somehow are magnetic to skin. I legitimately have over 50 painful/itchy welts all over my body (they can bite through polos). I wish I was exaggerating but I had the opportunity to play with folks that have experience with southern course bug issues who said “ah, we’re used to it” and by the end of the round they too were saying it was the worst conditions they’ve ever played. If the course could clean up the mosquito problem it would be 5-stars across the board but until then, even if the round was FREE, I would not go play again.

Thank you for your detailed feedback and kind words about our facilities and staff. We apologize for the mosquito issue and are actively working on solutions to improve the experience for our guests.
Take your money to Hilton Head
You can pay the same money to play the George Fazio course or the Arther Hills course in palmetto dunes on Hilton Head island. The fair ways at Savannah harbor have weeds growing in the middle of them. The sand in the bunkers is miserable and seems like they haven’t added new sand in forever. The greens are extremely patchy and bumpy. I’ve lived in Savannah for 11 years now and this course has just gotta progressively worse. Crosswinds golf club in Pooler is $50 and 10x better quality golf course. Do not come here!!

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the condition of the course and are committed to making improvements to enhance the quality of your experience at The Club at Savannah Harbor.
It'll be awesome when the Convention Center is done.
I love this course, but the construction on the convention center is causing some issues. The last time there, they had no internet, which meant no computers, which meant no food.
My only real criticism is that when we get to 90+ degrees, it would be nice to have more water available on the course.
Long for Women but just made it more challenging
The previous day there was an enormous amount of rain but they got the course in great playing condition. Most holes were 90 degree with a couple being cart path. Due to the rain, the driving range was closed and for some reason so was the snack bar, but the cart gal made it our way about 4 times so we were well cared for. As a women golfer, the course was longer than I’m used to but just made for more of a challenge. Some of the greens were yeowsa! BIG! So be prepared to hone in your putting skills! The USB ports in the carts (I tried 6 different carts) did not work which was disappointing because my cart fan runs off one. The carts had built in GPS which was great. All
the staff were very helpful and friendly. Next time I’m in Savannah I’ll definitely play here again.
Thank you for your understanding and kind words, Steve! We're thrilled to be in your top three and look forward to welcoming you back to The Club at Savannah Harbor.
