Hiddenbrooke Golf Club

The staff were friendly and professional. As far as the course goes, it is in need of some SERIOUS attention. All the tee boxes were torn up beyond repair, if you could find more than a couple spots of grass then it was a good tee box. The fairways only had spotty patches of grass that had been cut to the dirt and the rest of the fairway was dirt/ overgrown weeds. The greens were fast but fair, only complaint would be they are hard and won't hold a shot. Bunkers have no sand, we played it like ground under repair. Been a few years since I played it last and it was in much better shape then. I think this was my last round here, cost to much for the shape it's in and there's several courses in the area that are cheaper and in great shape. Sorry to have to say goodbye to it.

I played on a Friday aft. in just under 4 hours. Greens were fast, fairways firm. Enjoyed it- challenging layout but fair.

I found the course in good condition, considering the rain we had this winter. Looks like the new owners are going to be improving the course, which is good to see, since I like the course and look forward to it being brought back to good condition

Beautiful but challenging course. This is our second time in 3 years, but we are definitely coming back.

This course is really beautiful. We’ll maintained and a fair price. It’s pretty challenging. But there are enough tees that players at every level can have fun.

I had planned on waiting a few more days (all forecasted sun) but my biz schedule forced me to play earlier. As expected, the course, mainly fairways were still soggy. I lost my enthusiasm, after losing my 5th & 6th ball (all of which were in the fairway) due to plugging, the white unmowed clover blooms, or a combination of both).

I do mot and can't blame the course as they hadn't been able to mow for about a week. The greens were beautiful though. Pristine, still firm, and fairly quick.

I'll be back for my usual weekly round next week after things have dried out, and been groomed. One thing, though. The new owner is taking out an innumerable # of trees, which honestly bums me out. Seems like no one is really monitoring the "arborists" or visualizing how much this might negatively effect the course's flavor. I wish, if they'd felt the need to remove something,y they would (or would have unfortunately) concentrated on removing the massive swaths of poison oak and some of the overgrown blackberry bushes. Honestly, my feeling is "better off left alone". I loved the "natural wildness" of the course, and now it appears they'll be trying to turn it into some sort of groomed resort course, of which there are already way too many. My personal opinion/preference anyway.

Not an easy track, lots of carry targets, but always worth the challenge, greens were perfect, roiling great, course could be slightly maintained better but no complaints

I've played here quite a few times and always like it. However with prices increasing dramatically I can't say I'll be coming back unless there's a good deal. Great course, just too expensive now... As far as the golf is concerned, the layout is very interesting with 3 each of par 3s, 4s, and 5s on the back 9. Lots of elevation changes and narrow fairways. Bring your A game!

This is a course that places a premium on hitting the fairway. Real penalties and lost balls will happen if you don't. They keep the 2nd cut LONG so you can see a tee shot that should be findable and then can't find it! Kind of a pain really....I haven't played here for several years because it is generally too expensive. I believe they have made the greens faster. They always had a lot of break but now there were more 3 putts even though my putting has gotten better!

One demerit for crappy bunkers. they have quite a few but no sand. Just dirt. All the pother conditions are top notch so I don't understand why they can't keep sand in the bunkers!

They do not encourage walking and don't have a walking rate posted.It is very hilly with some steep climbs. Wouldn't want to play here a lot but when I need to be humbled I will come back....

No course marshals. Just overall slooow play made this round rather unenjoyable.
