Hiddenbrooke Golf Club

This is a course that places a premium on hitting the fairway. Real penalties and lost balls will happen if you don't. They keep the 2nd cut LONG so you can see a tee shot that should be findable and then can't find it! Kind of a pain really....I haven't played here for several years because it is generally too expensive. I believe they have made the greens faster. They always had a lot of break but now there were more 3 putts even though my putting has gotten better!

One demerit for crappy bunkers. they have quite a few but no sand. Just dirt. All the pother conditions are top notch so I don't understand why they can't keep sand in the bunkers!

They do not encourage walking and don't have a walking rate posted.It is very hilly with some steep climbs. Wouldn't want to play here a lot but when I need to be humbled I will come back....

Pretty golf course with Varied fun layout, some poor course conditions, tee box’s, sand traps all pretty bad!

Overall a Good course, Fairways are smooth and greens are nice.. Pace of play was a little slow got backed around 11th tee. Bunkers need sand ASAP

What a great course with outstanding views. The fairways and greens were in fantastic shape. The tee boxes could use some work. Will definitely play this course again.

I really enjoyed playing the course. The staff is so friendly and the layout is fun. The only thing keeping me from giving it another star is the bunker situation. There’s no sand. It’s packed down and hard pan. Nice soft sanded bunkers would make this the next public course in the area.

Great layout super, super poor conditions. The tee boxes are uneven and hardly any grass on them and no sand in the bunkers.

The curse is one where course knowledge was very important. Many holes were blind so sort of guide would have been helpful. Layout was challenging, lots of hills, uneven lies, and pleanty of potential trouble. All of these points make it an interesting place to play. Sand traps have been totally ingnored as far as upkeep, most times our group treated them as ground under repair. The farways are narrow and tough to see due to the verious undulations. Also, the rough was very long. A drive that was slightly off of the fairway may be tough to find. A little more mowing would be in order. Given the upkeep, I thought the $90 was a bit high.

First time back to HB in about six months. I was hoping they sunk some of the Covid bounty they've been making into the course. I was very disappointed. $90 for destroyed tee boxes and unplayable bunkers. Nothing has changed, they don't maintain their property. For a Troon golf course this course is in embarrassing shape.

You cannot go wrong with Hiddenbrook. Condition are very wet at this time of the year so maintenance is not at their best right now.

This course remains my Fav in the East Bay. Both Challenging and Difficult esp if you stray from the Fairways. Staff are all wonderful and of course, Ryan & the Nicks, James - new...are always there to ensure you enjoy your round.

My only negative feedback now is that all The Water closets are Unisex. Pls leave 1 or 2 for us Women. Ty

It had been several months since I last played and reading some of the comments, I was apprehensive on what the course would be like. The greens were in very good shape considering they'd been recently aerated. The rain certainly is helping the fairways recover and it looks like they are working on filing in bare spots on the tees. Certainly, will be coming back, and hopefully, they will continue to improve the course.

The course needs some major help on its condition. Tee boxes were a mess and most bunkers needed sand. I love the layout, but please invest some money and make the needed repairs.

We played a day after the greens were aerated. Needless to say, putting was difficult. The worst part was bunkers were all hard, wet, full of water and looked like damaged by corrosion No one can hit the balls from bunkers. A few tee boxes were heavily damaged. It was a fun course to play but the condition was not perfect. Although airways were green but slightly wet but no issues. We should have a free round of foursome to make up the poor bunker and green condition.
