Golfer Reviews
Bring a book
From the 1st tee, u wait on every hole. 4 some in front teed off from blue. Dudes couldn't even hit straight. At least get the ball on the grass and move forward. And the Marshall? What is that? Never seen him around all day. And the cafe? Uh where are my fries? So all in all it was a horrible 6 hours. Save your money and time
Great Value
Both courses are great values. The courses are in fairly good shape given the lack of rain in California. The greens were in very good shape and sometimes quite challenging. I play Blue Rock all the time it is one of my favorite courses.
Great course
Excellent price.
Sometimes some of the staff can be uptight but some are very nice.
Staff member seemed upset at me when I mentioned I had a junior golfer with me on a 1pm tee time (twighlight) I mentioned I would let other golfers pass me if we were too slow. He said it wasnt a good idea
OK, not as tip-top as it has been
Drought has had some effect on the course although it's still decent. Biggest complaint was the greens on the West Course. They were punched some time back and are still a bit lumpy. Play midweek when we played was slow, more crowded than usual at mid-day.
Wonderful greens. Rolled true.
What a great surprise . Very friendly staff. Greens were magnificent. Fairways a little worn but not bad considering the drought issue we are currently going thru.
Overall, a great value. Would definitely play again.
overall, this is a well designed and maintained public course. Had a round under 3 1/2 hours on a friday for an excellent pace.
Recent aeration is only downside to this round.
but course is of exceptional quality for a muni course
A fair test
I've played BRS many times over the years and the conditions on the West yesterday were as good as ever saw. It is a fun course. Week-day playing time was good. Sometimes things back up at the weekends.
Hey for $ 20 you can't go wrong.
1 was a little backed up so asked to start on 10,nobody in front of me and played in just over 3 hrs. Course in good shape, greens good beautiful day for golf.
Blue Rock is a wonderful public course!
Haven't played Blue Rock (West) in 16 years and this course is still one of my favorites. The variety in elevation and terrain makes it a challenging but fair course for the mid-low handicapper. On the front nine, Hole #4 is an elevated, drivable (318 yards from the blues) Par 4...and very fun hole if you have the distance. Hole #6 is a Par 5, 518 yarder that requires a good uphill approached shot and it rates "toughest" hole on the course but I personally think Hole 14 (rated #2) is the real #1 hole on this course...requiring a well placed drive off the tee to the left-middle side of the fairway with a tricky "goal post" second shot to an elevated green...this is my favorite hole at this facility...East or West courses! Blue Rock staff is cordial and very attentive at getting players out on time and are very accommodating. I love this place.
decent course with lots of trees, deep bunkers & water.
marshall would want golfers to be out of the course by certain hour but we weren't told while checking in. in our case, we're being followed by a marshall during the last 3 holes after warning us we only have 40 minutes to finish.
This course had great greens compared to the public courses I'm used to playing
The staff in the pro shop were super friendly . I was a single and they gave me the choice of playing alone or grouped up. I chose alone but later grouped up and had a pleasurable round. The greens really stood out as the best feature of the course, country club like. I hadn't played this course in 15 years or so and it was better than I remember it. No three putts and I shot 1 under my handicap. Good day.
course was in a good shape
greens were good, not much sand in the bunkers but they OK and playable
Fun course to play
The pace of play was great. The day I was there they didn't stack players too closely behind each other. The course was in good shape and the staff is always friendly. It was my birthday, but they don't let you play for free anymore on your birthday, which is a little disappointing because I play Blue Rock frequently.
This course is in great shape and offers a mediocre golfer good challenges.
I always enjoy playing either the East course or the West course at Blue Rock. They are both excellent courses.
This course had a nice mixture of complexity for an intermediate golfer.
My wife and I thouroghly enjoyed a wonderful Sunday afternoon on the course.
West has bumpy greens and a dead spot in front of green#12. East is great.
Ive been playing here since it was 18 holes. The price has gotten out of control. Seems to me if it was affordable you could draw more players. I very rarely will play week-ends because of the extremely slow play.
greens bumpy
First time I've played the course in about 12 years.Overall the course was well maintained, especially for a muni. The greens however were slow and very bumpy at times. Very hard to determine the break when roll is erratic. Staff was cordial and the marshal was effectively present without being overbearing. Fun layout; I will play again when in the area.
West course is still well maintained, greens are medium fast and very consistent throughout.
Haven't played the West course in a few years, so it was a pleasant surprise that the course was in very good shape, well maintained, and the greens were medium fast and more importantly, were consistent all day. Pace of play was good, not great, and we finished in 4 hours and 20 mins.
Great Day!
I love the west course. Fun with my buddies. Will do it again soon.
