About
Located just south of the airport, Van Nuys Golf Course has a unique location that provides an air show with anything from WWII Warbirds to F16 Falcons. It can be loud occasionally, but it's also one of the most affordable rounds in the area. There are two golf courses available, an 18-hole par-3 course and a nine-hole executive course. Neither of the courses are terribly formidable, but it's a great spot for getting in some practice. It's ideal for beginners but golf enthusiasts of any skill level will appreciate that the facility stays open late and both golf courses and the driving range are equipped with lights. The Van Nuys par-3 course offers good short game practice. There are a few bunkers and some strategically placed palm trees, but it's a very user-friendly golf course overall. It's even gentle enough for juniors.

Great availability
This course great for beginners or experienced players. The fairways are rough, however the greens are good. Great place to get your fix.
Van Nuys Golf Course Becomes Gopher Farm
I'm 65 years of age. I absolutely LOVE GOLF!
I have been playing this course since my recent recovery from hip replacement surgery to get my swing back in shape.
I cannot believe how bad the course has become with nearly more gopher holes than fairway! My last 2 rounds have been disturbingly disappointing. Each round, I have stepped in gopher hole and injured my ankle and calf! It seems to be getting worse, not better. Is ownership doing anything about it? It does not appear so. Of course, the fairways are also sparse with green grass. Dirt and dry grass are nearly 50%
Heck, even the parking lot is worsening with potholes.
I have played this course for many years but as my game progressed, I play numerous other courses. Then came my hip surgery and I returned to Van Nuys golf course as part of my recovery, yet I have injured myself both times back because of the poor course conditions (mostly gopher hole issues).
Unfortunately, I can no longer advocate for this golf course until improvement are made.

Unfortunately there is the airport at few yards from the course and the tee’s signs around the field are too hold and bad maintained so they are unreadable
Best time right now!
Rains have made fairways grassy and not hard dirt. If you start before 10am you can finish before 12. If you start at 10:30 you might be behind some people
Best Short Game Course
I love this place, it’s not perfect but if you are looking for a place where you tee off on a mat, there is no real fairway, and there’s a green 100yd away, this is for you. before 10:30am hardly anyone is there during the week. The greens are slow and chunky in some places, they’ll get your ball muddy when you take a divot, but it just adds a little difficulty since it’s only a par 3. Pace of play is fine as long as you don’t get behind 5 guys treating it like pinehurst. If you do get stuck on 1-9 there are some holes close to one another so you could just skip to the back 9 to get around people then later skip back to the front 9 where you left off. PS bring a divot tool.
