Eighteen Hole at Van Nuys Golf Course
About
Located just south of the airport, Van Nuys Golf Course has a unique location that provides an air show with anything from WWII Warbirds to F16 Falcons. It can be loud occasionally, but it's also one of the most affordable rounds in the area. There are two golf courses available, an 18-hole par-3 course and a nine-hole executive course. Neither of the courses are terribly formidable, but it's a great spot for getting in some practice. It's ideal for beginners but golf enthusiasts of any skill level will appreciate that the facility stays open late and both golf courses and the driving range are equipped with lights. The Van Nuys par-3 course offers good short game practice. There are a few bunkers and some strategically placed palm trees, but it's a very user-friendly golf course overall. It's even gentle enough for juniors.

Skip This Course
I played a hot deal which cost i believe 4$. When i was finished with the round I decided that i wanted to do a replay so i went into the pro shop and asked "Mike" the guy they had working there how much it was. He told me that it would be 17$ for a replay (which is completely not worth it for this course). I had asked him if he was sure that was the "replay" price and he insisted that it was. So I told him that i was going to go outside and book another tee time on golfnow and as i hit the door "Mike" told me that if I booked another tee time online he would not honor it and would not let me tee off. I then turned around and asked him if he knew how golfnow hot deals worked and that they would take the money out of my account. Mike then said that he did not care and would not let me tee off. I left and will nvr return. The course is not that bad if your paying the hot deal price but anything other than that, its not worth it.
It was so good.
That's good for
biginner's practice short game cources.
I am very happy to go to play again.
But they don't take single player on HOT deal, didn't go through it.
Thanks, I like very much.
YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR
NEW KID BEHIND THE DESK WAS NON TOO FRIENDLY. I DON'T REALLY LIKE THAT I CAN NOT BE REFUNDED FOR MY GOLFNOW RSVP FOR ONE DAY, AND INSTEAD HAVE IT MOVED TO ANOTHER. NEW KID WASN'T THE BEST AT EXPLAINING THIS TO US AND INSTEAD THOUGHT WE WERE PULLING A FAST ONE ON THEM. THEIR PRO-SHOP/STARTERS NEED TO BE RE-EVALUATED. THEIR STAFF NEEDS TO TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THAT "CUSTOMER SERVICE" & "STAFF FRIENDLINESS" SHOULD BE PRIORITY #1. ESPECIALLY ON A DAY WHEN IT WAS RAINING; YOU WOULD THINK THE FEW PEOPLE WHO ARE WILLING TO GOLF IN IT, WOULD BE TREATED A LITTLE BIT NICER. NOT TO MENTION THE COURSE IS IN POOR SHAPE AND IN DESPERATE NEED OF AN OVERHAUL. I'VE LIVED IN THE S.F.VALLEY FOR OVER 30 YEARS AND I AM COMPLETELY OKAY WITH LIVING HERE ANOTHER 30 WITHOUT EVER HAVING TO PLAY VAN NUYS GOLF COURSE AGAIN.
Great value
Solid, was wide open , only lost a couple balls. Occasional airplanes
Very good pace of play
My wife and I played a very relaxed round on the executive course. The greens were in very good shape. The fairways were still needing a bit more to bring them up to the greens condition. Overall quite a nice morning.
Great improvements
Great improvements on the dining area, snack shop, and practice facilities. Simple course. Great place to have fun for a reasonable price.
18 holes the easy way
We were very disappointed in the condition of the course. I went to practice putting about a month ago and the course was fine but yesterday it looked liked they hadn't watered since then. There were dirt patches on the fairways and the greens were awful. Looked like no one was tending the course. We will not play this course until they take care of it.
Par 3, when your looking for 2 hours or less not spent at the range.
This was a great Hot Deal after not having been in years. They made improvements and rerouted a few holes. For the most part the grass is green and healthy with well cared for greens. They need to improve signage on holes, I went to wrong hole a few times and get new mats. I finished a solo 18 holes in one hour and a half after some dude not having takin the pace of play pledge slowed me down first few holes before he went to a wrong hole. Well worth the money and on the top of the list for par 3's. and your clubs will have green mat stuck to them for a few days till you scrub them. Lol
This course has really dead and dried up grass
The course needs a lot of work but i still love playing here just for the practice
Worth playing with discount
Note: This is a review of the 18-hole par-3 course, not the slightly longer 9-hole executive course.
It's a standard par-3 course. Not too challenging, not extremely well maintained, you tee off from Astroturf mats. You might be disappointed if you pay full price, but if you get a discounted tee time, it's a pretty good value. I played on a Sunday afternoon, and it wasn't too crowded.
Super great place to have a quick practice of your short game.
I really like this place. I fairways weren't the best or the tee boxes for that matter, yet the greens were amazing. This course has all the character you need to practice your dhort game. The staff was amazing and very funny and helpful. This course is a must.
A small course with par 3 holes, not for anything except honing your short game.
Walking course only, the holes are all between 100 and 130 yards each. You tee off from rubber matt turf, not great. Each hole is pretty much the same. Straight shot to the hole. The greens are actually in great shape.
Was not busy at all, so we took our time, had fun, but definitely not a high quality course. Good for tweaking your short game.
greens are in great condition. but are slow
quick play a little pricey but no waiting on tees very good greens
cheap, quick, effective
Overall, a nice executive experience - while the rubber mat tees help your game, it would have been nice to hit off of real tee boxes. For $6 how can you complain?
Good Value
If you don't have alot of time and just want to get in some practice, this is a great course. Very, very fair prices. Good place to practice your wedges and build confidence.
Great value for the money
Found a deal on Golf Now for $7 for the 18 hole par 3. Overall it was a good course. The greens were well maintained. Granted I spent time on each green fixing divots from other golfers, but not much the course can do about that. The turf tees need to be replaced. I went to the driving range before the round and those tees were in MUCH better shape than the ones on the course. It was pretty dead so it was nice to be able to breeze through the course in an hour and 45 minutes.
I will definitely make it back if I have time again on a layover, for $12 (7 for the round 5 for the rental clubs) you can't beat that value.
Great Greens; New Improvements; Tee Boxes Bad
It's good to see the management investing. To add to last year's new pro-shop, the they just installed a gorgeous chipping green complex (where the 1950s mini-golf area used to be). Wow. The Par 3 course greens are in great shape and I like the very mature trees. Very well watered. New benches at every tee box. The only drawback is the otherwise un-maintained, ugly, dilapidated tee box areas with the oldest mats ever (I bring my own mat strip). Perhaps the management will tend to these next.
Nice course!
Very nice course and well maintained greens. I can't complain when playing 18 holes for 9.00.
Only con about this course is the location, you get loud airplanes flying right above you every 5 minutes.
Par 3 Van Nuys
This course is super easy, with all par 3's ranging from 90 to 130 yards. The grass is not bad and the greens are just ok. The course overall is pretty fun and worth 10 bucks. It has lights but the last time you can get a tee time is 730 which is stupid because its practically still light out and you can finish the whole course in an hour.
