Peacock Gap Golf Club
About
Peacock Gap Golf Club extends along the shores of San Pablo Bay, but it sits inland enough to avoid the fogginess of the coast and enjoy consistently sunny weather throughout the year. The course's layout has undergone many renovations over the years that have brought it to its current playability, including a new drainage system, new tee boxes, a reshaping of five of the greens, and relocation of bunkers. The golf course kept the classic features of its original layout though, such as the inviting fairways that still provide a challenge and the tricky greens that deceptively extend past where the player thinks they end. In addition to the course, Peacock Gap has also improved their practice facilities over the years. There is an all-grass driving range, two large practice greens, and a chipping green.

Long time review
Due to the fact I had missed a time time at another course, I decide to play Peacock for the 1st time in about 3 years. The course was in decent shape, fairways were still affected by the rains we had, so mud balls on many drives resulted. The course is extremely flat, good for people who want to walk it, which is the majority of players. However, this affects the amount to time that is required for a round. I'll return only as a last resort, even though this course is the nearest to where I live
First time impression
It was my first time playing the course. My friends and I had a amazing day, good drinks and great food. It was a challenging course and well kept greens.
I forgot my 5 wood on the back 9. And fellow golfers were kind of enough to drop it off at lost and found.
Overall, great course, awesome staff and friendly golfers.
Cheers,
Nate
early season winner
It’s only mid January, but the course is in great shape, even after all the moisture California has received in the past several weeks. Course Superintendent is to be complimented for cleaning up the mess of downed trees and fixing abysmal fairway conditions after recent storms. The greens have almost returned to proper condition, more than acceptable for winter playing. Good value for the money and excellent amenities throughout. Go play it.
My Go To Course
I play weekly here, sometimes more, with a men’s golf group. The course conditions are excellent, and have improved significantly over the past couple of years (new bunkers, tree trimming, etc). It’s a mostly forgiving course that will bite you if you don’t pay attention. The staff is top notch ! Friendly and professional all the time. The restaurant is very good for quick food at the turn but, also for a light meal annd drinks after a round. The all grass practice facility makes this course unique; love it! My only complaint is that I don’t live closer to the course. Give it a try!
Solid course, correctly priced
Peacock is a great place to get out and try to shoot a solid score. It's accessible without feeling too easy, and always in solid condition. I'd expect a weekend round to move fairly slowly given it's a popular course.
Golf Now Great Deal
For the mid day fee mid week fee during daylight savings it was a great deal! 1:30 tee off we just squeezed out 14 holes before dusk! So I found $45 including cart was a great deal! Course is average condition is average. Great food, no mid week beverage cart. There is really not a pro shop. I’d say it’s fior paying green fees and buy a flight of balls!
Great walkable course
Nice course green were well taken care of even with the drought. Several tee hole locations were more difficult than what I expected. Course very walkable but you can use a cart. Pace of play was fine. Overall, great course will definitely come back.
Driving range you hit off the grass.
Nice course but slow pace of play
Nice overall course and a good day, but due to crowd on course pace of pace was slow for a weekday
Course is in good shape
Compared to many courses around the Bay Area, Peacock Gap is in good shape.
Many other courses are dried out and bumpy, but PG has luscious fairways, decent tee boxes, and consistently even greens.
Perfect Day to Play
We played in the afternoon on a breezy day with great sunshine. The course was in good condition except a few holes with bare areas on the fairways. Some bunkers were semi-moist. Some long roughs on the side made it very difficult to find the balls. Greens were firm and fast. Overall, it's in good condition.
The staff was always friendly and helpful.
We recommend this course.
Solid conditions for this time of year
In spite of the drought, conditions were good, especially the greens. Always a good time at the Gap and with a Hot Deal, one of the best options out there
Peacock
The greens were in great shape. Probably the best I've ever seen them. Of course, lots of unrepaired ball marks. Course staff was good. Professional. I have two criticisms. First, the carts have a location manager that oversees their movement and it was very restrictive in where and how you could navigate the course in the cart. I hated that. Second, the rough was way too long. I asked if there was a major tournament coming up or something. I found nearly a dozen balls in it while looking for our groups' balls. For public play, it killed the pace looking for balls one foot off of the fairway.
