Peacock Gap Golf Club
About
Peacock Gap Golf Club extends along the shores of San Pablo Bay, but it sits inland enough to avoid the fogginess of the coast and enjoy consistently sunny weather throughout the year. The course's layout has undergone many renovations over the years that have brought it to its current playability, including a new drainage system, new tee boxes, a reshaping of five of the greens, and relocation of bunkers. The golf course kept the classic features of its original layout though, such as the inviting fairways that still provide a challenge and the tricky greens that deceptively extend past where the player thinks they end. In addition to the course, Peacock Gap has also improved their practice facilities over the years. There is an all-grass driving range, two large practice greens, and a chipping green.

Very slow, uncaring staff, not worth the money
From hole 1 play was painfully slow. Waited at least 5 minutes per shot. 2 hrs and 45 minutes to finish 9 holes. After 9 we talked to the starter who said their pace is a 4.5 hour round, but I should also tell the pro shop. No marshals keeping things moving. The pro shop staff was rude when I told them we were stopping after 9 because of the slow pace. The man just kept saying “this is a typical round for our course”, which he repeated about 3 more times. Not an ounce of concern or even a sorry. $150 wasted. It’s not a great course, don’t waste your time or money.
Peacock Gap
The weather was nice a little windy. A beautiful day. The pace of play was pretty good. The greens were nice
In solid condition
There aren’t that many options in Marin County for public golf. Out of the one there are, I think Peacock Gap golf club is the best one. And right now even though there are water restrictions the course is in remarkably good shape. I especially enjoy the greens which are pretty smooth and reasonably fast. I’ve never loved the layout as much as other great courses but it’s still a decent challenge and a fun round.
Our pace of play was average but that was due to one slow person in our group. Had we not had that person we would have finished in less than 4 hours
True rolling greens
Great course for a quick, morning round. Shot my best round ever that day. Pace of play was great until a slight slowdown on the back because of a single that jumped out in front of us. Otherwise, great staff and a good value. Would definitely play again.
Great place to play when it’s scorching hot in the Bay Area
Course was a bit windy, but the day we played weather in the Bay Area was very, very hot so we didn’t mind the cooler breeze. Greens are well maintained.
A little slow play
Greens in good shape, but need care to prevent eminent damage.
Good day on the course
The weather was great with a little breeze. Pace of play was good greens were rolling true
Watch out for mosquitos!
We got bitten pretty bad on Mother’s Day May 9. The mosquitoes were out in full force.
Also cart no. 16 was useless. It would barely budge.
Make sure to bring mosquito repellent if your tee time is in the afternoon.
Peacock Gap Practice Facility
This is the best practice facility in the Bay Area, better than TCP Harding (Harding has laid down fake grass and it costs a small fortune to practice).
Peacock has consistent course conditions and I really appreciate the nice pace of play; I usually can get in 18 under 4 1/2 hours.
Very happy w the facility and staff!
