Peacock Gap Golf Club
About
Peacock Gap Golf Club extends along the shores of San Pablo Bay, but it sits inland enough to avoid the fogginess of the coast and enjoy consistently sunny weather throughout the year. The course's layout has undergone many renovations over the years that have brought it to its current playability, including a new drainage system, new tee boxes, a reshaping of five of the greens, and relocation of bunkers. The golf course kept the classic features of its original layout though, such as the inviting fairways that still provide a challenge and the tricky greens that deceptively extend past where the player thinks they end. In addition to the course, Peacock Gap has also improved their practice facilities over the years. There is an all-grass driving range, two large practice greens, and a chipping green.

Excellent Course, great restaurant and nice short holes
Great course for the $, good weather, short holes which is nice for a beginner, restaurant has excellent food as well.
Great track!
Peacock Gap is a solid course with some challenging holes to keep things interesting. The staff there have done a great job keeping things clean during these crazy pandemic days. Would definitely recommend!!
Pace is an issue
I've been playing here for years and have always enjoyed the golf course. It's generally fun, walkable and in decent shape. Unfortunately the last two times I've played at Peacock Gap, we've quit after 12 holes because the pace has become painfully slow. I think this is partly due to extremely high demand during the pandemic, but that's not really an excuse for a 6+ hour round. They don't make any effort to speed up slow golfers and when a marshal finally came around, we asked about it and his answer was "its Sunday" and his recommendation was to play 2 balls. No wonder pace is so bad! Its been one of my favorite courses to play in the Bay Area for a long time, but sadly if they don't make changes to improve the pace of play, I won't be coming back.
Fun Course, Painfully Slow
Peacock Gap has been a go-to for my friends and I for years. We love the layout. It's fun and relatively easy. Conditions are usually pretty good. Unfortunately the last two times out, we've walked off after 12 holes because of how slow the pace has become. The course is extremely overcrowded and there is no one out there managing the pace. We waited for 15 minutes on every tee box. A marshall finally came around and we asked him about the pace and his response was "it's Sunday. Just hit two balls". That might explain why things we so slow! I won't be coming back here until pace improves.
Expected More, but still a good course
Based on great reviews and generally upper mid-range pricing, as well as the posh north bay location, I figured this course was going to impress me my first time playing it. Unfortunately it fell a bit short in terms of expectation and that's possibly more on me rather than the course. Overall it's a nice feeling course, pretty open for the most part, but you will get punished if you play it too loosely. Greens were slow, but pin locations were very difficult. Hard winds made for some rough tee shots, but all in all, the shortness and design of the course make it less interesting to me. Still great for anyone local to the north bay! FYI they have the nice GPS w/ touchscreen enabled carts, but beware you don't get close to greens, creeks or teeboxes, or the cart will automatically die unless you back up slowly...
This course has fluctuated between being nice and being terrible for decades now. It’s a shame because it could be great but they just don’t maintain it. They also let too many people on throughout the day. It took us 5.5 hours to finish. Will not be returning.
Slow Peacock
Play was sooo slow! Backed up with nowhere to go. Their tee times were too close together. They allowed people from entire Bay Area when it’s supposed to be Marin residents only. Ridiculous
Not sure how they figure out their pace of play and tee times but it has consistently been terrible for 15 years. If you tee off after 9:30 your staring down a 6 hour round easy.
Nice course in Marin County
Peacock Gap is a nice track. Decent little layout that's not too difficult but challenging enough. Greens are well maintained and the price is right. They also have a good driving range and practice area if you just want to hit a few balls after work.
