Courses to look at to be a 4
There are no 5 courses in our area.
If you want to see what to do to make San Ramon a solid 4 go check some courses in area. Wente. Poppy ridge. The bridges. Cinnabar yocha. castlewood. Rossmore. Talk to their greenskeepers. I will say it is impossible for san Ramon to ever be a 5 and not raise prices. San Ramon is a 3.0 it could be a 3.5. To be a 5 is something like southern highlands Las vegas. Trune in Az. Actually Frys course in san Jose. Olympic ca country club. Personally with what is being put into San Ramon moneywise I think the staff is doing their very best
So I believe San Ramon is absolutely returnable at $30. So if you haven’t played give it a shot. Very affordable challenging and just fun to play with your buds. You can lose as many balls on San Ramon as you can at callipe or the bridges. At $30 with cart you can’t beat it. You might have to have your buds push your cart once In awhile. But. What the heck. Its when you have to pay $45 to $55 and definitely $500. you have right to complain. FIX THE POOL. ITS UNSIGHTLY. not to mention those moms the owner took away a place to relax with the kids. That was definitely a bad move. Scorned MOMS Are never supportive.

As always, we appreciate your feedback Chuck! We pride ourselves on offering a great golfing experience while being one of the most affordable courses in the area. That being said, our course is in phenomenal shape right now.
The courses that you listed as 4-stars are upwards of 5x more expensive than we are. We may only be a 3.5 star course in your eyes, but you are a 5-star customer in ours! Thanks again for coming out. See you soon.
Greens have improved
The course is a solid 3. Carts are somewhat unreliable/old Greens have improved somewhat. Overall putts are true. Fairways need help. Often poor lies in the fairways. Sometimes better to play off fairway from rough.
Overall the managers are doing everything they can with what they have. Worth $30 to play. I. will say the pool area is disgusting and could use some definite maintenance. Green algae infested. Unsightly

Reasonable price for a good Sunday round
Started off with an early before 7:30am tee time. Round was fast and course was in good condition. Good round for the price.

Good community course
Weekend afternoons are always crowded. Some beginners slowed down the pace. Otherwise, good value.

Great Conditions!
Played just over 4 hours around noon weekday. The greens were as nice as they could be, considering it's a muni and have so many players that dont fix their ball marks. The layout is always fun, it rewards good drives and makes you hit layups after bad drives on 5 holes as water and creeks cross the fairways. Had a great round and it's a 5 star experience considering the price is very cheap for the Bay Area.

Play it, you'll like it!
I enjoy playing San Ramon GC, especially early in the golf season as it is place to play off the rust, work on my game during an enjoyable round mixed with some risk and reward, moderate challenges while getting in a good walk on a nice course.
Staff was gracious as I booked on golf now and had one player unable to make it from our 4-some
I play there a number of times a year and always look forward to #9 island green.

Monkey business on reviews
I think there is some monkey business going on with review. Anyone who has played a nice course would never rate san ramon above a 2 star. If you can get a noon to 2 pm time here for $20 with cart its worth it. Every course around has better greens. These people don’t fix ball marks. There are big obstacles all over greens. Fairways are not much better. Tee boxes so hard u can’t get a tee in ground. Any review over a 2 is fake
