No marshals- pace of play very poor
No starter. Guys in the clubhouse not informative. Too may singles, twosomes playing more then one ball and a fivesome in front if us. Bad golf etiquette ! And no one to call. Will not play here again if it's like this on a Thursday afternoon!!!!
Fun course.
Really fun to play. Need to play it a few times to know the "ins and outs". The staff was very friendly. Only issue was lack of notification regarding some of the fairways being recently plugged and the greens were sanded and aerated a few weeks ago. Course will be in great shape by middle May.
GREAT COURSE
The greens were just sanded and we played on a cart path only day but other than that I loved this course. All the cart paths are smooth concrete. Fairways were wide and in good shape. The staff was great. They honored our tee time even though we were a day late ( not sure if we had a senior moment or golf now made the mistake ) .
Thanks again Pro shop. I just booked another tee time for next week
Mike.
good course
I like go back to play this course every month regularly. but most weekend they have lots people to play. sometime we spend more then five hours to finish the game. If we can finish between 4 to 41/2 hours,
Decent course, a little slow
Course is a pretty typical Muni course, with an interesting layout though. Some holes you have to watch your tee shot, or lose the ball into some persons backyard. The pro shop person checking us in was very friendly, and even helped us out because we had to leave half way through the round because of an emergency that came up. Pace was pretty slow, which is tough. We played on the Friday after Thanksgiving.
Ok condition.
Played the San Ramon Golf Course today. Known for their 343 yard, Par 4, 9th Hole with an Island green. Where a decent shot off the tee will leave you with a short iron approach to the a front sloping green. Hitting it above the slope should keep you dry and out of the water. The course plays 6526 yds./Slope 127 from the tips. Most holes are fairly straight forward ...only a few bunkers, doglegs and trees hazards, but plenty of houses which line most of the fairways left and right. Fairways were in decent shape with a few dry spots and the greens were a little bumpy from being punched recently. But they weren't rolling to badly. Weather was great today... mid 70's with little to no wind.
No marshall . The group in front of us is very slow and drag the speed of the game
No marshall to maintain the courses. Too slow a pace.
good condition and fairways are in fair condition.
Great weather to play and have a great time with friends.
Course in good condition
I hadn't played here in a while, seemed like the last few times I played here the course was crowded on the weekends. But, I had a chance to get out there before the crowds on a Tuesday (tee off at 3:30) and was surprised that it was very open. Had a blast out there. Course was in really good condition, fairways were nice, greens were nice and the sand traps seemed maintained too. I really like the hole layout here too, some tough holes mixed in with some manageable holes. I will definitely be going back. Good value for the money!
Nice course, beautiful greens.
The course is challenging because it demands shots be made to keep the ball in the fairway on almost every hole so that you are not hitting into someone's backyard. I had a great time and will be back.
Great Value
San Ramon Golf Course provided a fun, well balanced, and scenic tour through the heart of a beautiful community. The GolfNow deal w/ the cart was fantastic.
Just average, Needs work
This course has some redeeming qualities. #9 and #18 are fun because of the water. The Par 3s are tough and the greens are in fairly good shape. The course uses reclaimed water which smells terrible when the sprinklers come on. Many of the ball washers are empty of soap and water. Too many sand traps are just dry and hard with no sand. It's an OK value at $30 w/cart but I would never pay $63 on the weekend when I can play Tahoe Donner for $60. SRGC needs help, it is bordering on becoming a cow pasture.
Not worth it, pace of play too slow.
Played on Sat afternoon and after taking 2 hr and 45 minutes just to play 9 holes, I quit. Groups in front of me were terribly slow, playing from back tees, and there was never a marshal. When I turned in my cart key to get my deposit back and told the person in the shop, all he said was sorry, I am here all by myself. Not worth it, unless you like 6 hr rounds!
San Ramon Golf Course
I love this place. It's not super hard but it is challenging. The greens are nice and the pin placement is as it should be on a Sunday.
The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful especially Dan and Rob.
Thanks,
Paul B.
5.5 + hour round on a wednesday for $40 w/ uneven tee boxes. enough said...
Go to monarch bay and play ten times better greens and fast play for the same rate.
Course is well maintained and friendly staff.
Greens are well maintained and overall course condition is good. The Sunday round was about 4.5 hrs but it was quite hot that day. Friendly staff and clean, new carts.
Course needs some TLC
Let's see no starter so everyone going off wily nilly, pace of play horrible no marshal guess they did not know it was pace of play month.
Range a wreck and no water in ball cleaners on each hole
Good for value for money.
i like the 9th hole where is middle of water hazards.
I enjoyed game with friends.
First Time at San Ramon Golf Club
I would have given this higher than 3 stars if the round didn't take 5 hours for an average length course. The breakfast sandwich I had in the snack bar was arguably the worst I've ever had but the staff was very courteous despite this. Unfortunately I didn't see one marshall out there to speed up play and I got stuck with a beginner who was taking 10-15 shots every hole but otherwise I liked the course and it is a good value for the money.
