Great in town Course
Friendly Staff, well maintained, great playing course . Recommended l
Good value
The course is a 9 hole course, with short yardage holes. It's what you would expect for a basically par 3 course. It was perfect for my girlfriend and I, as it was her first time on a golf course, and I'm not that good either. The club house and grounds are closed and unattended, so there are no restroom facilities or actual check in. Everyone on the course the day we went were all beginners, so expect slow play.
Great value
Very well maintained course. Challenging and forgiving at the same time. First world issues:: I must have started during maintenance because there were four times that I had to wait for staff to leave the fairway. Second, the shoe brushes are bare. Overall, this is a nice walking 9-hole with rolling caddies to rent if you need them.
Nice 9 holes
Nice layout for a 9 hole course, even through the rain of the last few days, the course held up well! Greens were spectacular
Great time
What a hidden treasure! $11.00 bucks for a fun 9 hole course
Good course for beginners
Just started golfing. Great, affordable walking course for beginners with no pressure! Can't beat $10 for a quick 9.
Candler National lives up to the hype
There’s a little magic in Candler Park. Escape the urban guerrilla war for a beautiful walk among the trees. There are challenging shots and a world of interesting people from Atlanta to meet and share you little adventure. For 11 bucks, You play golf the way it was meant to be played and you’ll join the secret society of those who know about one of the most special places on God’s Green earth.
They really had the tees way up today....good for me but you old timers must just be shaking your head. Tees up, no tree on 5 or 8.... luxury. When I was a young man we played double the distance, the greens were as long as the rough, a tree monster ate your balks on 5, six was surrounded by a moat with crocodiles, and a family of hyenas lived in the woods off 7 dining daily off those unlucky enough to go left. The kids today have it easy.
Great historic muni in the city.
Great course. Walking only and they have limited push carts. The clubhouse was still closed to Covid. Would like to have seen that given the historic course. 9 holes well maintained for a muni. Blend of par theees and fours. Holes 7 and 9 and steep uphill shots. Hole 8 sits between them and is a downhill shot. With a good roll you could make the green on that par 4.
It’s Perfect
It’s the middle of a busy week. But you just need a little golf. Not 18. 9. 90 minutes max. And you need it to be relaxing. Easy. Fun. You’re open to getting paired with someone you’ve never met but who will have the same chill vibe that you do. You don’t care if the greens run true or if the tee boxes are level because that’s for people who waste their money on country club dues. You don’t need a range because practice is overrated. At Candler, the grass is green, the holes are short, the greens are tiny, and the layout is old school. The people are great. It’s everything muni golf should be. It’s perfect.
Good course for the price
For the price, absolutely worth playing a quick 9. Tee boxes and greens could be much better but for the price it’s still worth it
