Enjoyable place to play
Only issue is the greens. Many are patchy, with no grass here and there (e.g., the 8th hole), unpredictable to play on.
Needs a little work
Love how close the course is to the house. The course needs a little love. Tee boxes are all sand and dirt, really no grass. The greens… let’s just say they need some love.
Always a great time
Perfect course for when you are tight time and want to have some fun. Some of the holes are very challenging.
OK for a practice round
Small, tight course that's as hard as a rock. Not exciting in any way. I was out with a friend who just retired and is taking up golf and I hadn't played in more than 12 years. This course was fine for that. That said, it's $14 for 9 holes and $3 for a handcart. You do have to walk.
I'll probably go once a week with my buddy until he's ready for something better.
GREAT place to teach kids to play.
You get what you pay for, awful
My experience here in the past has been fine, I always come in knowing it will be poor golf, but it will move at a fine pace and the people are super nice. Today, I was met with something different. The people were mean, I had my ball picked up from the middle of the fairway twice after a drive, and the pace of play was so horrid I couldn’t even stand to finish my round. I will never be giving my money to them again and I recommend you never take it there in the first place. There is much better value around Atlanta and I recommend you take your money to a better course and not this awful place.
3rd Generation of ATLien who plays Candler
This is a no-frills urban course with zero pretensions. You just go and play 9 holes without breaking the bank and get a good walk in. It keeps me sane and healthy, and I get to maintain my game as well. My grandfather and my father before me played there, and I feel connected to them as well. Hole's 2 & 3 are a challenge, but hole 9 is the hardest. You're hitting blind up a hill to a par 3. See if you can par it.
