Course
This is a very good course for it being a public course. They could use a little better drainage on fairways, cart paths and around greens. Fairways were in good condition and the greens were great.
Conditions very good
In spite of a lot of overnight rain creating puddles on the course overall conditions were very good. The only frustrating part of our round was how slow the greens were, which probably was a result of the greens not cut because of the rain.
Course was in great condition from tee to green. Feel like this is a hidden gem. Carts were in good shape, up to date, and bonus for not having that annoying restriction on as the course was wet and had to go off path to maneuvered around some puddles. Also had a killer turkey wrap on the turn which was super easy to order from the sign at hole 8. Only thing that could be better is some more golf supplies in the club house. Balls, divot repair tools, etc. staff was super friendly and very relaxed. Top notch and will be back
Came back to this course after a few years
The course is getting to great shape except hole two. Great challenge for all your clubs.
One of the better public golf course experiences in Atlanta
As someone who has played most of the GolfNow public options in Atlanta, I can say Sugar Creek blew the others away. Very friendly staff, no pace of play issues on a Saturday afternoon, challenging layout, great bar/grill, and on top of all that it was cheaper than the others. Would definitely recommend.
Sugar Creek Golf Atlanta
Couldn't say enough good things about this course.
The staff is amazing and very helpful. I live in Florida and play a lot of different courses and can tell you the staff here is world class.
Played there two weeks ago and went back this past weekend. Great layout and lots of fun. Course is in great shape and has some beautiful scenery.
#2 is a little tricky.
Course in Fair Shape, but design is lacking
Second time playing this course, and the layout is just poorly designed. Several par 4 sharp doglegs where you have to tee off with a mid iron, unforgiving fairways where well placed shots will still end up poor, very small greens, and just overall strange holes.
The tee boxes were in rough shape, almost none had a flat lie. Every time I hit the fairway I was either in a divot, or in a dip in the ground where there shouldn't be one.
The greens were great. Fast, and in decent shape. Some of the pin locations were silly. Bunkers were also great.
Staff was great. The value was decent for a $55 hot deal on a Sunday morning. Pace was good.
They are doing some construction, so it seems like they are trying to put money into the course, but I think regardless the design of this course will always hold it back.
