are the challenge.
Beautiful old course in very good condition. The fairways are open with few hazards. Bunkers were soft and very playable.
After getting your ego stroked on the fairways however, the greens presented the real challenge. Most of them had a table feature that almost always came into play. They were being aerated at the time I played. Other reviews indicate that they are usually fast so either way, your putting will determine your final score here. Groups were sent off too close together. They only let 2 minutes between groups which causes an immediate backed-up feel to play even though we played to pace. Good play for the money. Nice people. I'd golf there again.
This is a very challanging course
The staff was very friendly and courteous. The course was in excellent conditions. Putting greens was like at the Masters, fast.
lightning fast greens
this course is in very good condition, but that is no surprise it is always in great shape. the only negative about the course is the pace of play. if you go there plan on having a five hour round. i really dont understand why they don't have a marshall on the course.
One of my favorites. Beautiful old course.
Great deal with GolfNow. I Love playing this course. It's beautiful and has a lot of history due to the fact that it's almost
100 years old.
Nice course.
Course was in pretty good shape. Not a lot of trouble on the course; it's pretty open and only has water on a few holes. The greens are the golf course's only defense. They are fast and very undulating. Probably top 3 fastest greens I've played on in 15 years of golf. With that said, if you can putt, you'll have a great time!
Good course for a great price
In good condition at a great price. I hope to play again soon
Nice Place to golf, very friendly!
The greens were super slick and quick .....be ready to putt...if you think you hit it to soft it is usually right speed.....
Bermuda was dorment when I played....but you better be able to strike the ball solid...
You will love it and you played a course much like the National....
Challenging and fun with fast and undulating greens
The greens are the best part of this course. The greens are undulating and challenging in a typical Donald Ross style. The layout is picturesque and not too penalizing. Overall, it's a great course and I love playing there.
GREAT VALUE
Winter time conditions understood even for mid-march, greens very very firm and very very fast - I will go back after warmer conditions get the course a little more friendly
Huge crowd, cart paths only made for SLOW golf.
Wish had known there was a large local crowd that were shotgun started ( assume due to size) and pace of play was not good. Found 2-3 foursomes backed up at times. We had to play front nine twice as back was so backed up. Like this course and will be back after asking "if" large group playing and course experiencing slow play.
Great Course
A Must Play when your in Augusta Ga.
Fast undulating greens, a test for the better putters. Play to the center or front edges..to long by by..to short they stick.
Great atmosphere and the first home course of Bobby Jones.
You can play where he honed his craft...The History...Amazing
Pretty course, but very busy
This is one of the busiest course I have played; and I have played this course on several occasions.
This course could be reasonably played in closer to 3 hours; however there tends to be a lot of walking groups which severely decrease the pace of play.
It had rained the day before I played but the course was in good shape
Greens were soft and fast fare ways clean and neat traps were dry and well maintained
Interesting course layout with good mix of challenging and scoring holes. Course is in great shape for winter conditions.
I like this course. The course is in excellent condition with smooth and fast greens, well conditioned fairways, and great tee boxes. The bunkers were in great shape as well. The problem I have with the course is it's just too slow. My threesome teed off at 12 noon and finished at 4:50pm. My group and the group in front of us had to wait to tee off on many holes throughout the course. If not for the waiting, we may have finished 45 minutes earlier.
Found out this course is the #1 public course in Augusta...
This is a great course with a very friendly and helpful staff.
It was our first time to play but we will definitely go back even though it is over an hour drive to get there.
The greens on this course are the MOST challenging we have ever seen so be prepared.
Overall, a great day of golf (regardless of the score, hahaha...)
The layout is just right
The course is in excellent shape and the greens are a 9 on a scale of 0-10.
Long course from the tips; however, regardless of your skill level you will be challenged by the speed of these greens.
I teed off on time and kept a consistent pace throughout the entire game. I am used to fast greens, but even the fringes of these greens are fast. This is the home course for the Augusta State University Jaguars--two time NCAA champions. Great course and conveniently located near downtown.
Better than average bang for the buck.
Tee boxes good condition, fairways fair, greens quick and smooth (except for unrepaired ball marks) sand bunkers good (except for unraked footprints). Bunker sand clean and depth was good but very thin in some places. Staff was friendly and clubhouse is good. Practice facilities good except driving range reverts to astro turf mats in the winter. Driving area generous, greens perched and fall off quickly to somewhat deeper than average (for a public course) bunkers. Nice layout keeps your interest througout. Pace of play can be slow at times due to a few inconsiderate golfers.
First time
This was our first time at Forest Hills. The course was wet & the weather was windy, but I loved the course layout and we had fun. The only negative was pace of play which was slow at times. We will add this course to our regular rotation & will be going back again soon.
Porbably second best in Augusta
This is an old course that is very challenging and has a great layout and all for a great price. Would love to play it again someday on a clear day.
