Great recovery in motion
Storm recovery is progressing well; new cart paths are fantastic and course layout is a gem; club house staff could be more welcoming and offer insights such as “cart paths only holes” or “driving range is closed” without prompting from customers. Otherwise, great experience with a fantastic course in December. Thanks!
Forrest Hills
So not sure when they raised the prices. Greens were fast, but definitely need to be cut better.
great course
Haven’t been there in probably over a year. Everything was in great shape. Fairways were very lush and the greens were lightning, fast and pure. If you play here be prepared for several three pots.
New Greens are great
New greens are awesome. Super fast and roll true. Play the 'release'. Pace was a great and larger groups let me pass through. Friendly staff. Still a lot of debris from Hurricane Helene, however, that is the case with 99% of courses in the CSRA right now. Price has gone up, however landing a Hot Deal or walking the course is so worth it.
Greens are great!
Weird playing here after Hurricane Helene uprooted over 1200 trees but the course conditions are great. Greens were recently renovated over the summer and they’re nearly perfect. Much better than before! Getting there and will be perfect.
SLOW, SLOW, SLOW!
I realize at noon on Saturday, you won't have a speedy round of golf, but this was ridiculous. 10 minutes before our tee time there were five groups waiting in front of us. On the 3rd tee, there were 3 groups including us waiting to tee off. Throw in almost five hours on the course and we were finished about 5 1/2 hours after our tee time. They had done a commendable job getting all the trees blown down from hurricane Helene pushed into piles. The fairways were in good shape and the greens were good, but the greens were too way too fast for the average golfer, which contributed to the slow pace of play along with groups in front of us spending way too much time trying to find balls the went into the piles of debris from the hurricane. Two groups just packed it up and left it was so slow. If you know conditions are going to slow play, I suggest you space out the tee times a little, so at least you can tee off at the right time.
Hurricane mess
Course was hit hard by hurricane. Cart path only for what appears to be for a while. Greens were fine. Ball off fairway can sink into grass and disappear. Paying 58 bucks was not worth the time
Very bad for your money
As seasoned golfers we play all over including abroad.
Rules of golf include honesty, courtesy, consideration and sportsmanship. We experienced none. They should have disclosed that most of the greens are in terrible condition. A discounted fee should have been offered to golfers willing to play under those conditions. The speed of play and courtesy left a lot to be desired.
I’m left with no choice but torecommend other courses around for a better round with your friends.
Green problems.
The coarse is great except for some of the greens. Some of the greens (5-6) still have damage from 2 winters ago. I thought they would have fixed that by now but evidently not. .
Greens Stink
Beautiful course layout. Thought I was at Augusta National, until I got to the greens. Worst I ever saw. Couldn’t continue after the front nine, was so disappointed.
NOT WORTH THE MONEY
TWO ISSUES: 1- THE GREENS ARE IN TERRIBLE CONDITION AND THE HOLE PLACEMENT DIDN'T HELP. MAYBE CUT THE HOLE WHERE THERE IS SOME DECENT GRASS INSTEAD OF THE USUAL LOCATIONS. 2- THE GREENS AND FRINGE AREA DIDN'T LOOK LIKE THEY HAD BEEN WATERED IN A LONG TIME MAKING FOR HUGE INCONSISTENCY IN PITCHES AND PUTTS.
Great course
Great course! Greens were not in the best of conditions
Great Day of Golf
Absolutely beautiful golf course with a classic design. I love the layout, and I find the history of Bobby Jones’ championship there fascinating and inspiring. The fairways were perfect. The ancient trees are beautiful. Some of the greens are patching and need some work/healing. I look forward to returning.
Awesome for someone from the coastal plains
Being from coastal Georgia I had never played a course with more than 10 or so feet in elevation change so this was awesome for me. Greens were surprisingly quick and firm. Overall the course was in good shape. Not flawless but I have nothing to complain about. For the $50 or so it’s 100% worth playing!
