Afternoon round
Crowded and slow play on front nine. Back nine was open but was told I had to tee off on the front only.
Not great course for the price
not a fan of course. was hitting in sand from the tee box and dead middle of the fairway
It’s worth a trip
Several greens are in really bad shape right now but normally this isn’t the case
Decent
Course was decent. Staff was friendly. Pace of play was ok until we ended up with some obnoxious people behind us. Definitely added to the stress level. Greens were ok but need some work compared to how they were twenty years ago.
Course needs a lot of work.
This is a great layout, however the lack of attention is allowing tee boxes, fairways and greens to be in a constant need of repair. Most of the bunkers are unplayable. Many areas are “washed out” and they are losing a fair amount of turf on the greens. Hopefully, someone will pump some money into this course as it is a beautiful layout.
Steve’s view
Greens pretty good. Fairways still need some work.
Tee boxes need a lot of work.
Good Round at a fair price.
I’ve been playing Pointe South for at least 20 years now and I can say the course is in good shape and offers a good challenge to the experienced golfer.
As other courses in the area trend towards semi/private membership, Pointe South golf course has been a staple for good golf at a fair price since I can remember.
Hats off to the staff! Keep up the good work, it’s appreciated.
Slow Start but Good Time
Started about 1/2 hr or more late. Quite the jam up to start. But then the pace was fine. Overall the course conditions were decent. 11 is still a desert to the right for the last 100 yards.
After playing this course many times during the winter months and it being in excellent condition because of the over-seeded tee boxes and fairways. I was a bit surprised at the conditions of the greens and tee boxes when I played this past Sunday. The tee boxes were in rough shape, the greens were very patchy., there was a lot of sanded areas and not very much good grass to play from. I was a bit disappointed but will go back in a couple months to see if it gets back to the way it is normally.
