Woodmont Golf & Country Club

Cart path only, stuck behind 4 walkers, no marshals to be found. Finally skipped two holes and things got better, Still took over 4 hours.

At times there were 3 sets of golfers on one tee. There was no marshall in site and a call to the pro shop revealed that there was no Marshall on the course at all!

Woodmont is a very upscale community with a wonderful golf course. However it seems that the conditions of the course has suffered. The greens were very spotty with numerous quarter size dead spots in them. The cartpaths used to be edged and yesterday they were overgrown. Of course that does affect play just the appearance. The fairways were in good shape but there are obvious weeds creeping in. The addition of new golf carts was nice. It is still a favorite course of mine and I will be back.

We got a great rate due the greens being recently aerated. The other benefit was that nobody was on the course. We played 18 holes in almost four hours and that was at a casual pace. No rushing, but no hold ups either. the weather was gorgeous and other than the greens being a little bumpy, everything else was great. Love this course.

I play Woodmont quite often. One of my favorite courses in the area, as a matter of fact.

In the past, this course has always impressed me with it's great layout and good course conditions, but ever since the middle of summer, the greens are in just terrible shape.

I understand the summer was very hot, and the greens took a beating, but my round this last Monday was practically unplayable due to the greens conditions.

1. They had recently aerated, and were still very pock-marked, or downright covered in aeration holes. This was not mentioned on GolfNow when booking the round, so it was doubly disappointing when we played.

2. The grass length was just unacceptable. Nearly 3/4 of an inch of very furry grass all over the greens. There was seriously no way to judge speed on puts. They rolled and bumped and swam at the hole so bad, it was miserable.

Again, I really like this course, and recommend it to other golfers all the time, but it feels like the grounds crew isn't giving it their all lately. I would definitely not recommend it this or next week, until they get out there and get their greens in shape.

Great track and a strong value. A few short par 3s and longer par 5s keep the course interesting and overall a good challenge

Play was slow. Over 5hrs. Greens seemed over watered. Greens looked and rolled like a war zone. HUGE divits on greens and very bumpy. Played Lanier in Cumming 2 weeks ago and greens were 10x better!
Fairways were in pretty good shape.
First time playing Woodmont that I came away disappointed.
Also, did not like the pressure of cart man rushing up to us in the parking lot, asking to take our clubs and load them. Then holding out his wad of money looking for a tip. Never had that before.
Will be back. Still great course.

We play Woodmont about once a month. Its a great course that is normally in great shape. Played yesterday and you could definitely see the stress from the summer heat. The greens are in the worst shape that I have ever seen them. They have an aeration scheduled for early September. Until that is done, I would not recommend playing here. Oh, the good news...they have a brand new fleet of carts!

Staff is always wonderful! Fairways and bunkers in excellent shape. Greens roll very good but they need someone repairing divot at the close of business each day to clean up what the players ignored.

I came back to Woodmont for a third visit because the first two times were such a a great experience. Since my last visit in July, something/one brutalized their greens-countless number of unrepaired divots, pockmarks everywhere and the greens were way too shaggy. Not to be rude, but this course went from first in my book to close to worst. But to be fair, have to mention, the balance to the course was in great shape: including the tee boxes, fairways, roughs and staff friendliness. Its a nice track but give it some time to repair itself

Overall a great course. The greens were a little rough but playable. I would plan on bringing your own beverages/water especially if playing in the afternoon. We only saw the beverage cart once and that was on the 2nd hole. Almost every water container was empty. Hopefully management will fix this problem, before someone has a heat stroke.

Woodmont is one of my favorite courses. The conditions of the fairways and tee boxes were excellent. The fairways were very lush. The greens however were not in good shape. I don't understand why people do not fix their ball marks. I fixed at least 5 per hole and could have fixed 20 more. The greens were soft so my ball marks were deep. Maybe it's time to switch to bermuda greens.

It had been a while since I played Woodmont, but it was in excellent condition, as usual. There are a couple of holes that have homes a little too close to the fairway, but all in all this course is one of the best around. A couple of the short par 3's are the toughest holes on the course... make a solid wedge shot to the green or pay the price! The only reason I gave as few as 3 stars on "Staff Friendliness" is because of the ranger... dude must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed that day. On the 14th or 15th hole, he warned our group (a foursome) that we were too slow and were out of position, and people behind us were complaining. Never mind the fact that we had let a twosome play through (way back on the front nine) and there was now a three-some behind us... who clearly were not waiting to hit their next shots. We finished the round in exactly 4:20 (again, that's with letting a group play through) so his "warning" was unwarranted. Besides that, the course and facilities are fantastic, the greens rolled true (though a little pock-marked), and the weather was great... couldn't have asked for a much better round of golf... minus the ranger!

I had not had a coarse put a whipping like that on me in a while. We played from the blue tees and shouldn't have. This coarse demands you keep the ball left. So made my fade very difficult to play. Forced carries cost me many stokes as front edge was usually no good. The coarse was in very pretty and in very good shape. The staff was friendly and other than the high score it was a nice day of golf.

The course is a good neighborhood course that could be a fun track. If I lived near the area it would be on my to play list. Got paired up with a 2some who were great people, really enjoyed their company. Unfortunately, the greens were not well kept partially because of the players not fixing ball marks. Furthermore, the pace of play was pretty slow. Overall, not a bad course.

This is my favorite course in N. Atlanta. Beautiful fun yet challenging lay out. Greens seem to be a bit worse for the wear but are still better than 80% of similarly priced course. Finished 18 hole on a Sunday morning in 3:45 with a foursome in front of us.

Greens need to have players repair more ball marks!!! But course is very playable, but not easy...four sets of tees so you can "pick your poison." Courteous staff; we played later PM so the refreshment cart left us early in the back nine (pretty hot day). Back side a bit tighter than the front; fair amount of water but avoidable most of the time.

Quite a hike if you're coming from inside 285!!!

So this was our first time playing the course. It's a beautiful set of links, with above-average difficulty (stay left!). My main problems were that it was packed and we were backed up the entire back 9 waiting for multiple sets of people in front of us to play through. Also, it was slap middle of summer, hotter then Hades, and ALL OF THE WATER BUCKETS WERE EMPTY! You trying to kill me, Woodmont? For $50 a person, they should have some kid checking the water every few hours, really not much to ask. I won't play here again because of the traffic and I just don't think it's worth the price tag, but was a decent experience to play once.

Enjoyed this golf course from the minute I parked my car. The staff was there as soon as my feet touched the ground. Staff was friendly for my 4 hours of golf, from the starter to the cart lady. Really liked it when someone brought me an ice cold wet towel to cool me off seeing that it was in the mid 90's!

Will definitely go back!
