Staff was extremely nice!
Enjoyed this golf course from the minute I parked my car. The staff was there as soon as my feet touched the ground. Staff was friendly for my 4 hours of golf, from the starter to the cart lady. Really liked it when someone brought me an ice cold wet towel to cool me off seeing that it was in the mid 90's!
Will definitely go back!
Love this course!
I've always enjoyed Woodmont. The course is always in great shape and the practice facilities are great. The course is set up with a good mix of challenging and not so challenging holes where you can enjoy your round.
Beautiful track
I have played Woodmont many times. It is a class place. Good treatment. Good facilities. The only thing I would diss would be the spongy, slow greens. But I will go back , and recommend the course to others.
Staffs are very friendly
The course was wet due to weather condition but staffs are very friendly and the course's been taken care of.
Still enjoy the course after 13 years
I play Woodmont often and it's still fun to play after 13 years of golfing there. It's in good condition and is challenging for a mid-handicap golfer with the multiple tee boxes. The only problem is the slow play at times.
Challenging but very fair
Very enjoyable course to play. good length and very generous fairways. course was in good shape, but the greens were a little choppy... mostly because golfers don't fix their ball marks.
First time here in years
I played here when the course opened years ago and had fond memories. The course did not disappoint. The greens were in good shape. I like this course because it does offer many challenging shots while still being forgiving when one gets away. Our Thursday foresome will be adding this one to our rotation.
Great start to a weekend.
Great course. Great start to birthday weekend. Will be back.
Top Notch Golf at Fair Rate
I moved to Woodmont last August 2014 and have enjoyed the course, playing each weekend. I have had good number of friends done to visit and all have been delighted with the course. The course is now in top condition and play in morning moves along well, afternoons at times when the rates drop can take a little longer but at any time of the and any rate they are charging you are receiving a great course for your money...Steve Z.
very nice by DaClaw
I am here from Montana and this one would be in the top 5 there. It has great balance-complimenting a good shot and punishing a bad one. In addition, it was fairly challenging form the whites tee's too. I paired up with a nice family of great golfer which made it real fun along with course knowledge.
Wish I lived Closer!
I live 10 mins from Reunion Golf Club and play there fairly regularly, but we decided to make the trek out to Canton to play the sister course again.
Conditions...Tees, fairways, greens were in a great shape...green looked really fast, but they were maybe a 1' or so slower than what we played last week so it took a couple of holes to trust the speed. Fortunately, I did not find a bunker, but they appeared to have plenty of sand.
Layout...for those that have not played it or it's been a while...4 or 5 sets of tees...the blue fit our games, but they have configurations to make it harder or easier...imo this course allows the average player room to land the tee ball in play, challenging enough to punish bad shots.
Love the mix of hard holes where par is a great score, short par 3 holes and 3 par 5 holes on the back to help you recover from the harder holes.
Great course, and fun to play...if only it wasn't an hour away.
Grass in great shape!
Always a pleasure to play Woodmont! Rolling wide open fairways with hazards that challenge your game, but still friendly. Greens are in the best condition, fairways are very good.
Great bang for your buck
Love the layout. Greens are in great shape. This is one of the best courses in GA for your dollar $$.
Most holes have generous fairways. Challenging if u want to back up to the black tees
Great course, especially for the value
Well-maintained, nice course. 5 or 6 different course lengths to play. Fairly open with little need for shot shaping but plenty of trees, OB, and some water if you feel like losing some balls. Good mix of water, hazards, change of elevation, and green size and shape
Great Afternoon
First time we've played the course - great layout & the greens ran true. Delightful afternoon of golf.
Excellent layout and worth the drive
I got a great deal on golf now for $28 bucks, so how bad could it be for a country club? This course is worth 2-3 times that money, and even though the pace of play was very slow, I'd play it again, and again, and again, but just not days after heavy rain. It was a cart path only day, some mud - but not a lot, and I was paired with a father/son duo - both a little past the beginner stage, but that didn't ruin it for me because I love the game. And any chance to play a quality course like this one I can't pass it up. If I had known it was cart paths only, I would have probably preferred being paired with more experienced golfers, or not played at all - but for $28 WHY NOT!
This is Woodmont?
Let me say that I love this layout. A great mix of holes that usually requires every club in the bag. Typically in great shape. Not on Saturday, April 4th. The fairways were mostly void of living grass, instead they were covered with what appeared to be brown mulch formed into ribbons by the overnight thunderstorms. The tees and greens were in better shape, but c'mon folks, learn how to repair your pitch marks. I stick with the fix yours and one other, but each in our group fixed three or four on every green. These conditions did not justify the $70 green fees.
I will play here again, but not until the warm weather brings the fairways back to life.
March Golf at Woodmont
We played late in the afternoon on a Friday. The greens had been aerated earlier in the month and were not fully recovered. Staff was nice enough but overall this course is too far from Atlanta to make the trip worth it.
Very poorly managed pace of play
I have always loved to play Woodmont and try to play there whenever I can. Yesterday's round has me rethinking that mindset...5+ hours on a weekday afternoon is beyond unacceptable. I have never experienced such a poor display of pace of play management as I did by the golf shop staff yesterday. They put off a foursome in front of us with 3 additional "riders". They played okay, not fast but okay. Then, on the back 9 they sent off 2 walkers between us who were not very good and a single behind us. We had to wait 5-10+ min on every tee box...more when the twosome went wandering in search of their shots. I won't be back anytime soon...too many other nice courses around that make smarter decisions and better manage their player flow.
