Great for the price
Haven't played Country Land in over a year and I was pleased to see it looking in very good condition and despite the recent greens aeration, for the most part putts rolled okay.
As an ametuer player, this course is challenging because it's got some moderate height extremes, especially on the front nine. The first three holes are especially unique in that tee shots either go from low to high or high to low to the green.
I'd okay it again.
Almost there, becoming really nice , hate to blow my secret,,but....
Over the last 3.5 yrs I have played over 40 rnds at Countryland. My main reason for playing there so much was the cost (18 holes on GolfNow @ 13.00-19.00) so I did not care if the bunkers were sandless, or if the carts were ultra slow (play there and you will understand why this is a problem) or the fairways were lacking grass. Over the last 6-8 months Major changes have happened, new carts, new landscaping, and the best upgrades were just completed GREENS. I played there 7/24 and was amazed how much has happened in the last 4-5 wks since last time I played there. Fairways and tee boxes are now covered with manicured grass, greens on the back nine need another week to fully come in but the front 9 are pristine and rolling true. Trees have been removed to open up the greens, paths fixed, bunkers (except on # 17 which will be done soon) are full of sand, and the staff is Always friendly. My secret is out now, for the dollar , this lil challenging course is unmatched in N Georgia. My under 3 hrs play time just moved to over 4.
Excellent.
Very Nice Course, Value for the Money.
Can't wait to play again!!!
A Challenging Course
Because of the undulating nature of the course and rather small greens this was a very challenging course. I cut my teeth on this course when I started to play about two years ago and my improvement was evident as the course allows you to focus on strategy as well as skill.
An enjoyable afternoon!
I am giving this course a mid grade review because the back 9 holes were closed for maintance
I am giving this course a mid grade review because the back 9 holes were closed for maintance.. Also note the fairways are very tight and hilly. I would not recommend to a beginner.
Great Views, but not a Great Course
This could and should be an excellent golf course. The property is outstanding. This layout is a bit old fashion, but can be challenging with the elevation changes and rough. The back nine was closed and will be closed for some time. The greens are not very good, but playable. This facility needs a rehab.
Course needs work but so cheap you cant deny playing it
This course definitely needs work especially with there greens. We tired to putt but there were so many divots that the ball hopped as soon as you hit it. Tee boxes needed repairing as well. But the course is cheap so its hard to go wrong with that and the pace of play is spot on 4 hours.
Worth the price
For golfers looking for the scenic views, lush fairways and pristine greens, stay away. But for new/avg golfers looking for a good challenge at a great price, look no further! I've played here a number of times and it's never overly crowded and the staff has always been courteous and friendly. While I only gave the course 3 stars (it is in some need of repair) for the price I feel comfortable recommending.
Challenging course.
Once the weather gets warmer, the greens should become better established with grass and the course will become very nice to play.
Godd Course for an Excelent value
Some greens and fairways need attention. Water collers around the couse were very accesible. Front desk was very helpfull
For 25$ yes. 35$ no.
Cheap, easy, course.
Reminds me of the bobby jones course in Buckhead.
Greens are horrible.
They don't group so you can single, which I find annoying if playing with friends.
Had to let 2 pairs and 4 singles play through.
Not a deal breaker but kicked our game time up to a little under 5 hours.
For a easy, cheap course it's good.
Better than bobby jones.
Perfect place to hack it up. Beautiful views from many holes.
The greens were terrible. The layout is a little confusing. But for just getting out for a couple hours it's fine. Not a place to take clients or guest.
Good layout for the beginner and average hack
Greens need some attention. Otherwise, the course is good. Good layout for the mid to high handicap.
I really like this course, it is extremely challenging!!
The course conditions are mainly due to the current weather...summer months will improve the course. Greens will be much better.
Friendly staff, coures poorly kept
The staff is very friendly. However, the course needs a professional's attention. The greens are unkept and unputtable. They have many bumps and bare spots. The fariways and tee boxes are covered in weeds. The course was a marsh due to poor drainage.
Short but challenging.
Not bad for the price. It always needs a little work. Good place to find your swing for the season.
This was a very challenging golf course.
The golf course is challenging for a beginner, but the day before I played we had terrible storms, so that could account for the condition of the greens. I enjoyed playing at this course.
Worst greens ive ever seen
Better off putting on gravel.. I want my $12 back... THAT BAD
Overall great time, well worth the money, quick pace, would come back again!!
First time there, great service, fast pace, wide range of people playing there, front 9 was great with their new grass, back 9 need improvement, but those additions will be made this year, so if you have never played here, well worth your time, unless you are use to paying $60 plus dollars for 18 and need that type of place!!
Great Course and Staff at the Foothills to the Smokies
Greeted promptly by Clubhouse Attendant
Special Order from the Grill prepared by Teresa
Sam the Greens Keeper even came by to see how everything was going.
