West Pines Golf Club

As someone who's played this course a ton, I've been very disappointed with their recent tech additions. They've installed GPS units in every cart, but you have to purchase access to use the features. Throughout the round the GPS unit will sound off and alert you to purchase their nonsense...repeatedly. I don't want to use your $9.99 per round GPS nor do I want to pay $5.99 to use your Bluetooth speakers. Everyone uses apps these days guys. And the ones that don't most likely aren't going to fund this money grab you've found yourself pursuing.

The GPS units also act as a "don't drive the cart in these areas" which is normally fine, but randomly thinks you're in the middle of the fairway on a cart path only day and makes you reverse until it figures out where the heck it actually is. This happens often enough to be annoying as can be.

In my opinion you could've put this money to use elsewhere. Your bunkers have been in bad shape for awhile. Your cart path has many areas needing improvement with broken pavement here and there. You've got weeds popping up all over the place and I'm wondering if you've fired your previous grass guru. Instead you chose to monetize a crappy GPS unit that is more annoying than useful.

I can't say that I'll be coming back here much unless GolfNow has a killer deal.

Course in great shape. Greens are super fast and very difficult. Bunkers only thing that needs work.

The staff was friendly and the course was in fabulous shape. Greens were smooth and fast. Refreshing after playing other courses whose greens were recovering from aeration. Walking would have been a challenge since the course is quite hilly. Wish it were closer to the house.Weird having to pay extra to use the GPS on the cart which was a first. No worries though. I use my personal range finder.

This course is growing on me. Older layout with lots of elevation change. Greens roll fast and true. Played the morning after an overnight downpour and the course was extremely wet-

Fairways starting to come in. Should be in great shape in s few weeks.

I like to play golf at West Pines. The pace was really good. I just have to get used to golf carts. The golf carts can shut off on its own even if you are only close.

My friends and I were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed this course. State-of-the-Art carts and new Bermuda greens are the highlight. It’s not too far from Atlanta and is great value for the conditions of the course. I will be back.

West Pines is a good challenge and enjoyable track. Some blind hazards on several holes- be careful. My son drove it into two “penalty areas” that we couldn’t see from the tee. Pace of play was excellent, Dormant greens in great shape for mid-March. Heartily recommend.

Greens were in great condition for this time of year. Can't wait till the fairway grass to start growing as it seems like you are hitting off of hard-pan most of the time.

I've played this course a lot over the last 35 years. It has come along way. I'm somewhat old school when it comes to playing. i see no reason to pay to have my yardage given to me . There are no markers to give me my distance except on the cart path. The greens are hard and not very receptive. Are they fast or slow, depends if they mow or roll the greens.

I love this course. Obviously it was wet since its rained almost every day for the past 4 months. It was cart path only and the cart GPS was not working which meant a little more time and effort getting distance on approach shots. Otherwise, greens were in good shape and the fairways were not too bad, although on some holes it was it tough to find a dry spot. One negative, which prevented a 5 star rating - they had white turf in one of the sand traps on 14. I've never seen this before. Very cheezy.

Course at the time took on a good bit of rain. Overall not bad for the hot deal price. I was told the greens were fairly new. Greens were like cement even after the rain. Greens were rolling quick on some holes and slow on others.(i’m sure they will be better come spring). would rate this course as a true GA course with the elevation changes. Good bit of hills. some holes didn’t have the best landing areas. Some blind tee shots off the box. somewhat narrow ally’s to hit. Good change though. Good course yardage. I feel this rating is true to the course based on others I have played ( 5 star being AAC)

Bring your A game. This course requires your full attention. The newsgreens are great.

For a sub 9 am start time in 30 degree weather, the course was immaculate. Shared the round with my dad and best friend and while a regular stop for me, they have only played once or twice before the greens were re-done. The greens were in fantastic shape for a January. It was like putting on glass. Very exciting ound and a wonderful experience

This course is fun to play and is the in great condition and the greens are fantastic.

They redid the greens now burmuda fast smooth and tough to read. The course is great shape add it to your must play list

This course is in the best shape ever, I mean ever!!! Greens fantastic and fast! Tees, fairways, traps all good too! It will never be one of my favorite layouts but I will continue to play it provided the conditions remain good. The noise from I-20 is annoying on the last couple of holes. Worth every penny!
