About
Royal Lakes Golf & Country Club is situated in the heart of South Hall County. The course sprawls across 150 acres of rolling countryside with natural wetlands comprising 19 of those acres. The golf course has a traditional Scottish links design that also incorporates a few mountain holes. It's a layout that will always keep you guessing. It may not be the most formidable golf course in the area, but it shouldn't be underestimated either. The course strikes a good balance between being forgiving enough for high handicappers and challenging enough for more advanced players. The par 3s are tough and the diverse par 4s come in all shapes and sizes. Royal Lakes Golf & C.C. is a shot maker's layout that requires accuracy and thoughtful strategy. The most memorable hole on the golf course is the par-5 11th, which features an intimidating island green.

overbooked
I had to wait at least 5 minutes before every shot round took 5.5 hours to complete.

Great golf course, greens are doing very well considering recent aeration. I’d play this golf course every week
Not what it once was
Have played this course many times over the years, but not in the past 5 or 6 years. It’s still a very interesting course & layout. There are many thought provoking holes that require planning & many shots from your bag. I will give a complete pass on the sandy greens as I was told of that in advance! I appreciate the honesty.
Aside from the greens, the surrounding areas were very poorly kept. Lots of deadpan lies. Fairways were very spotty & tee boxes were mediocre at best. Not a dollar has been spent on cart paths in decades so they are bouncy & rough. Carts was new & nice, so that was a plus. In fairway yardages never agreed with my GPS, & my GPS seemed to be the accurate one.
A once really nice course is just not what it used to be. There are just too many better options in the area.
Greens punched and sanded
it would be nice if your website would share when Courses aerate and sand their greens.
Overall good layout. Greens were area aided with sand all over the greens making it hard to putt. Great value better than Chateau Elon that I played in October this course was better and way cheaper
Royal lakes always pleases.
Kept up very nicely considering the amount of rounds are played there. Above average for the area. Better than Chicopee most of the time. And definitely better than reunion country club

More course markings would be very helpful. The course is good; nothing great, nothing really bad, just decent golf course that doesn't really stand out.
Great all around
Course was in great shape for this early in the season especially. Greens? Lightning fast and true; watch out for all the terrain changes. Course is challenging for every level.

What's happened to Royal Lakes?
I have played this course for 15 years and this was the worst the course has looked and played. Plus it must be scheduling tee-offs six-eight minutes apart because it is over-populated and there aren't any marshals to keep play moving.
