About
Royal Lakes Golf & Country Club is situated in the heart of South Hall County. The course sprawls across 150 acres of rolling countryside with natural wetlands comprising 19 of those acres. The golf course has a traditional Scottish links design that also incorporates a few mountain holes. It's a layout that will always keep you guessing. It may not be the most formidable golf course in the area, but it shouldn't be underestimated either. The course strikes a good balance between being forgiving enough for high handicappers and challenging enough for more advanced players. The par 3s are tough and the diverse par 4s come in all shapes and sizes. Royal Lakes Golf & C.C. is a shot maker's layout that requires accuracy and thoughtful strategy. The most memorable hole on the golf course is the par-5 11th, which features an intimidating island green.

Under maintenance
Overall the course is great, but I would recommend not playing after the aeration of the greens. Sand and holes dont let the ball roll well.

GREENS NEED TO HEAL
This is a challenging courses but sadly it’s no fun when the greens are aerated, bumpy and heavily sanded.

We work hard to maintain the course for everyone's benefit, which means aerifying the greens as part of our regular maintenance schedule. The greens will be healed soon and in pristine condition. Good...but not memorable.
Good course. Other courses in the area have more memorable holes. Staff was superb.

Royal Lakes Review
Great track, staff & course is in great shape...However Pace of Play was terrible, ended up quitting after 9 holes but Pro gave me a slow play raincheck to come back out & play so I appreciated that very much!!!
He apologized & I said, Pro you cannot change poor etiquette & common courtesy to let a faster single through...

Greens need improvement
It's been a while since I've been here, Played better this time around. Only complaint were the greens. They seemed soaked, needing repairs throughout. They looked muddy but held up well. Not sure why people don't fix divots on the green.
