About
Royal Lakes Golf & Country Club is situated in the heart of South Hall County. The course sprawls across 150 acres of rolling countryside with natural wetlands comprising 19 of those acres. The golf course has a traditional Scottish links design that also incorporates a few mountain holes. It's a layout that will always keep you guessing. It may not be the most formidable golf course in the area, but it shouldn't be underestimated either. The course strikes a good balance between being forgiving enough for high handicappers and challenging enough for more advanced players. The par 3s are tough and the diverse par 4s come in all shapes and sizes. Royal Lakes Golf & C.C. is a shot maker's layout that requires accuracy and thoughtful strategy. The most memorable hole on the golf course is the par-5 11th, which features an intimidating island green.

Today ended a 11 year run for me here
After a frost delay like six carts were waiting to tee off. So like we did before we asked could we start on 10? He said yes but keep up the pace 5-6 of their favorites were finishing up on 9. We tee'd off and was off the green by the time they got to the dog leg. Mind you we have a two some teeing off on 11 as we're driving up. The marshal comes and talks to them in the fairway and comes to us as my partner is getting ready to hit and tells us to go back to #1 we ask why? He said they don't want us in front of them!! At this point I want to ask the favorites what did we do to them for them ro call the club house. So I gave the marshal a ear full going back to #1 and when we got to the tee box and told him if he don't like me expressing myself give me my money back! He had the nerve to tell me sometimes we have ro over look things for certain people! I let him know that don't work for me!! I've been playing here over the last 11 years if fact met my golf partner here in May and we've played least 15-16 rounds here since we play somewhere twice a week. Then the members behind us ask what brings you to Royal Lakes? We said the samething that's been bringing us here GOLF! today put a sour taste in my mouth and I would play here for FREE!!!

Nice Day
First time on this course. Very much enjoyed the layout as the variety of holes was nicely mixed through out. For being fall golf, course conditions were very good. Green speeds consistent with other area courses. Really liked the country club feel of the course. Staff was very friendly and made sure I was comfortable heading out for the first time at their course. Other players they sent me out with were very nice and helpful also.. Would recommend if you get the chance to play here.

Pace of play.
No Marshall to be seen. Group in front of us was VERY inconsiderate. They were at best a 25 handicap ( that’s not the issue, I completely get that). But they we’re playing from blue tee box and waiting for group in front of them to clear the green on second shot on a par 5. Finished putting and slowly walking off green and holding a conversation. They were at times taking 2-3 shots each. Very annoying!

please water the greens, so fast the ball lands 4 inches from the cup n rolls back to the fringe. no no no

Everything was fantastic except for the 2 some after 2 some, behind another 2 some & another. I would hope they’d be paired up to speed up the pace of play. Other than that….everything was perfect! Greens, fairways, rough, layout, Etc.
