Royal Lakes Golf & Country Club

Royal Lakes was in great shape today. This is a fun track. Pin placements were tough though tucked near ridges on the greens.

I’ll start by saying you won’t find a better course even for twice the money. Fairways cut 3-tier, greens absolutely perfect. Royal Lakes is one of the best maintained course around - you can’t go wrong playing this challenging, well thought out course - hit em’ long and straight.

this is a fun course. It is short and greens are slow but the layout is super. Course is in great condition.

We just played Royal Lakes after all the rain. Greens were a little slow but everything else was fantastic. I love this course. I think I use every stick in the bag out there. Plenty of scoring opportunities mixed with some spots where you really need to manage the hole. We played at 10AM in 4 hours.

Staff and course were great. Check to see if there is a Tournament scheduled, that effect pace of play. Play if you can!

Fun layout very playable and great shape. Greens are good speed some think a bit slow.

I played this course many times in the past. But I never had this bad experience this time. First, I got there about one hour earlier than my t-time to warm up. One of the marshals asked me why I was there so early. I just told him that because I like this course. After I paid my round, I noticed they charged me a credit card surcharge. I never had to pay in the past. So I asked the receptionist when they started charging credit card surcharges. He said about 3 months ago. That’s when all the golf courses are recommending to pay with credit cards due to Covid-19. They are taking advantage of this. Another marshal rushed us to start paying the round. On top of all these, the greens were awe fully slow. Never seen this slow. And then at 18th hole they were watering the green at 5 pm when people were still playing. Never going back to this course.

I’ve played this course once before and absolutely love the layout. Several dog legs which require you to consider your club off of the TV depending what tea boxes you play. The signature hole number 10, part five with island green and what feels to be island like fairway is straightforward and can also be very challenging depending on how you choose to play it. An excellent mix between risk versus reward decision making. Course was in excellent condition, weather couldn’t be better which always helps. The homes surrounding the course are beautiful which provides for a nice backdrop to an already beautiful course/layout.

I didn’t get an opportunity to experience the full amenities as I arrived a little late and didn’t have time to hit range balls. Facility looked really nice and the practice green was representative of the greens on the course and it was a nice large putting green with several undulations to give you a good feel for different scenarios.

Awesome course. Friendly staff when you get there, great driving range and practice facilities. Conditions are perfect, greens were some of the best I have seen around. Love the wide variety of holes. Some make you lay up and hit iron off the tee, and some allow you to let it rip with driver. That 11th hold with the island green is awesome. My favorite course in the area.

By interesting, I mean, enjoyable and a good test with water in play on a number of holes. In good condition despite overnight rain, fairways in places were a little damp so cart path only, but greens generally were fine. Not consistent as some had been mown and others not but the weather was no doubt to blame for that. And we did have drizzly conditions for the first 6 holes. Initially slow as a single, believe it or not, took it on himself to hold up play until the 11th - playing 2 balls often and playing several putts from the same place on the greens - but when he left we thought we were free and clear. Until that is the South East Asia Fourball who had all the time in the world appeared in front of us at the 15th!

But that did not spoil our day out on a good course that we shall certainly return to and probably enjoy more on a drier day.

This course is one of the best in the area. Right as you enter the property, you'll know you're in for a wonderful experience. The staff is great - very friendly and accommodating. The course was in fantastic shape despite the rains the 2 previous days. The greens were slower than i expected but understandable due to the weather conditions. Layout was great and difficulty was moderate - as long as you can manage your misses, you'll have a shot to the green. Good shots are rewarded while bad shots, well you can still get away with on some holes - key is manage your misses. Familiarity definitely helps. All in all, this course deserves 5 stars! Hats off to Royal Lakes GC!
