About
Royal Lakes Golf & Country Club is situated in the heart of South Hall County. The course sprawls across 150 acres of rolling countryside with natural wetlands comprising 19 of those acres. The golf course has a traditional Scottish links design that also incorporates a few mountain holes. It's a layout that will always keep you guessing. It may not be the most formidable golf course in the area, but it shouldn't be underestimated either. The course strikes a good balance between being forgiving enough for high handicappers and challenging enough for more advanced players. The par 3s are tough and the diverse par 4s come in all shapes and sizes. Royal Lakes Golf & C.C. is a shot maker's layout that requires accuracy and thoughtful strategy. The most memorable hole on the golf course is the par-5 11th, which features an intimidating island green.

Great day for golf
I told my wife in the mid of the afternoon just to get out of the office and she turned out to be a great caddie. We enjoyed the course great or no pacing. Just a wonderful day on the course with my wife. G.O.L.F. that a misnomer (Gentleman often Ladies Fine). The no# 10 island green a must play.
Great Course
Royal Lakes is one of the best lay outs north of Atlanta. It was in great shape.
A fun & Challenging Course
I enjoyed Royal Lakes. Will certainly play there again.
I liked this course.
The greens were being worked on and the weather wasn't very good but I had a good time. This is a very good course though. Great course design. It wasn't too tough or too easy. I will be playing this course again very soon.

this course was very nice and weather also beautiful
and green and grace also nice but there is not enough water station 2~3 places only, i think that need more water station
especially summer really need more water station

This is a very challenging Course. I was luckyto be paired up with smeone that had played th course before who gave mesome insight on the corse lay out. Get ready for the Challenge!
good course
Played it on March 5 2014..the greens are in great shape but they air rated perimeter of the greens so putting from off the green was a little tricky. The winter has left some thin spots scattered on the fairways but overall in great shape for first of March.
Pretty Course
Royal Lakes Golf Course is a personal favorite. Scenic, interesting and well maintained. Classy amenities and personable staff.

Best greens we have played on this fall! Course well kept for this time of year. Nice thing here is each set of tees provides different obstacles/challenges on nearly every hole. Par 3 black tees 195 all carry over water front pin, no layup! White tees from the side, still over some water 140 with a completely different angle to the same pin. I like the idea that, the tees aren't just in a row and increase distance. With that said what I am getting at is there are lots of sets of tees 6 or 7 total so ladies, seniors, scratch golfers, there is a tee and an amount of difficulty for everyone's skill level here. Nice layout, up down, left right, long short! Best time here is now, we paid $24 on a Sat., in the summer it is well over $50 even of weekdays.
Only thing I saw was, it was Saturday they NEEDED a marshal!
This course is average but good.
Fisrt time played at this course, reasonable price and maintained course so I had a good rounding.
But unfortunately, after rounding I have to carry my golf bag by myself to my car. It was inconvinience. Normally, other golf courses allow to drive golf cart put a golf bag in a car but they don't. This little thing lower this golf course reputation.
Fairways in really good shape, greens excellant
This is a great course if you can keep it in the fairway, but if not you are in trouble. No level ball position if not in the fairway. Makes it challenging.
Fun Course
Some very scenic holes, especially the 11th. Course is in pretty good shape and is definitely a fair challenge.
Very nice golf course
The golf course is in fantastic shape. Despite the recent aeration, the greens were in good shape too.
Interesting course that didn't live up to it's reviews
I'm always looking to play new courses so I booked at tee time at Royal Lakes when I was in the area after reading several glowing reviews. I was disappointed to find thin and dry grass in several of the fairways which is surprising considering the amount of rain we've received in Atlanta this summer. The rough was very high in many places, especially around the greens making it difficult to find and play your ball. I usually play tees (usually blue) from 6400 to 6500 yards. The blue tees were 6600 so I played the white tees at 6200 yards which made for some uncomfortable tee shots. I should have played the blue tees. I played as a single and played through several groups-they were all very nice- and still played in less than 3 hours.
Very, very, srow- pray out there in the afternoon.
A beautiful day. Dining staff was excellent. All staff was courteous. May want to hire a multi-lingual ranger to help speed up play.
