Chicopee Woods Golf Course - Village Nine

About
Chicopee Woods Golf Course is a public, 27-hole layout in Gainesville. The course is tucked amongst the Appalachian foothills, giving it a scenic terrain of rolling hills. The holes are divided into three nines: the Village, the Mill, and the School, that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. Five sets of tees provide even more variety. The Village nine is the longest of the three and it's also the driest. There is only a small lake beside the second hole. That doesn't mean the golf course isn't challenging though, you'll still face several strategically placed bunkers. There are a few scattered trees but the course is mostly open and offers some room for error. In addition to the 27 holes, Chicopee Woods G.C. also has a driving range and chipping and putting greens.

Great time
Played for the first time and I’ll be back tomorrow! Love this course. Just enough of a challenge that you get sucked in for more.
great round in the mist
nice folks. because of the rooster tailing the greens were slower than normal. but great round on a great course. highly recommended.
Beautiful course, greens were slower than shag carpet
Nice place, good people, getting pricey.
Greens are beautiful and full of grass, so much grass that I watched somebody leave a 10' uphill putt 5' short. Think the fairways were running faster than the greens
No reason for such a great track to have greens running almost a negative on the stimpmeter.
A Pleasant Surprise
I booked my tee time online, expecting to pay $64 and change. They must have a senior rate, because I was only charged $50. The clubhouse is really nothing special. There is a food counter/bar, which I did not use. The locker room is really just a small bathroom, with a separate locker area that is used as a storage facility. But, the exterior of the clubhouse is beautiful, with 3 season azalea bushes in full bloom.
I arrived a little later than planned, so I did not use the driving range. The practice green is fairly large with gentle slopes and was in good shape running at a nice pace.
The golf course is fabulous. There are a lot of hills, so even with a cart, you need to be able to walk up and down those hills to get to the tees, greens, and some of your shots. The fairways are pretty generous, but they are all cut through a forest of trees, so you need to keep your ball in play. Course conditions were excellent, and the pace of play was very good. Great course and a great value
I live in Florida, but we have family in the area. I will definitely return next time we travel there.
This course has great features
I’m very enjoyed with the autumn scenery on a cloudy day

Weather was great for golf, course was in great condition, greens perfect. Golfer should give it a try.
Nice but way too busy
Had a wonderful round with the exception of slow play which I believe is due to golfers playing the wrong tees. Finally gave up after 13 holes of waiting. Greens were very nice.
Good outing
Course in great shape; greens a touch slow; back 9 was slow pace; staff friendly and welcoming
