Jekyll Island Golf Club - Pine Lakes Course
About
Jekyll Island Golf Club offers 64 holes of golf, making it the largest public golf facility in Georgia. The courses are a favorite amongst locals and visitors since it's hard to beat the affordable rates. The club features three 18-hole courses and one nine-hole course. Pine Lakes is the longest of the three full-length courses at 6,700 yards from the back tees, though the course is not lengthy by any means. The final hole is the only one on the course with considerable length. The original layout was created in 1968 and underwent a major renovation in 2002. It is similar to the Indian Mound Course, which sits adjacent to it, but Pine Lakes has a more modern bunkering system. Fairway bunkers come into play for long hitters and the bunkers that frame the greens demand accurate approach shots.

Golfer Reviews
Wrong day
They booked my tee time for the wrong day and refused to accommodate. Rude lady on phone.
Fun but far from impressive
The staff could honestly care less if golfers show up or not. Seemed more interested in ESPN replays than assisting customers. Carts are very nice and cart paths are excellent. The course itself was in decent shape, but not what they should be. The greens are okay. The weather was perfect and the Live Oaks are always beautiful.
First Time Pine Lakes, Jekyll Islamd
Last minute booking on Golf Now App, Easy to find, and really welcoming staff. Paired up with another 2 ball who were locals. Really pretty course, great value for money, would definitely go back.
Perfect play
My husband and I played a round at Pine Lakes-Jekyell Island and let me say love this course.
Staff was very professional and friendly the carts have USB ports for keeping phones charged and the course was one of the best we have played in the area. Fairways are just wide enough and cut short, the T-boxes are clearly marked and the greens..... Let me just say they are very challenging due to being faster than I am used to.
The course is surrounded by natural beauty and plenty of wild life for the nature lovers. My favorite was the growling alligator!
We will most definitely play there again and bring friends.
Driving to Orlando
Stopped to play on the way home to Orlando and thought we would give it a shot.
Great staff and amenities but course was a little disappointing. Lots of bare areas, mushy fairways, and overall way to many bad lies in places there should be grass.
Great Greens!
The course was in great shape. The Greens are fast and well taken care of. The set up of each hole is fun with some challenges. Great place to play and enjoy a good round of Golf.
Best of the Jekyll Island courses
Of the 3 Jekyll Island courses, I thought this one was in the best shape. None have completely recovered from Irma damage, but the fairways seemed better on this course and the greens were the fastest of the 3 sets. The layout is nothing outstanding, we a few interesting holes. But by and large the fairways were wide and the greens relatively straight forward.
Excellent Conditions Very Impressed
I have played at many of the St Simons Island area courses but never on Jekyll until playing Pine Lakes. I was very impressed with the course conditions and the greens. The thick Bermuda was a challenge if you missed the fairway or green. Greens were rolling beautifully. I also played Indian Mounds the day before and Pine Lakes has a better layout plus Indian Mounds was still recovering from aeration. I saw over 20 deer and other wildlife throughout the course which was amazing. Staff in the Pro Shop were very friendly and I had a club sandwich in the grill area which was great. I was pleasantly surprised and will visit again!
