Jekyll Island Golf Club - Pine Lakes Course
About
Jekyll Island Golf Club offers 64 holes of golf, making it the largest public golf facility in Georgia. The courses are a favorite amongst locals and visitors since it's hard to beat the affordable rates. The club features three 18-hole courses and one nine-hole course. Pine Lakes is the longest of the three full-length courses at 6,700 yards from the back tees, though the course is not lengthy by any means. The final hole is the only one on the course with considerable length. The original layout was created in 1968 and underwent a major renovation in 2002. It is similar to the Indian Mound Course, which sits adjacent to it, but Pine Lakes has a more modern bunkering system. Fairway bunkers come into play for long hitters and the bunkers that frame the greens demand accurate approach shots.

pine lakes Jekyll Island, GA
Fairways are wide. If you hit a ball into the woods watch out for snakes. Greens are a little slow but very receptive.
Still a Great Place to Play
Good shape overall. Course was a little soft because of heavy rain the prior days. Definitely the best of the 3 courses here. They are still closing the grill early so if you're looking for a beer after your round you'll need to go elsewhere. Very little drinking water on the course also for this time of year and no beverage cart. Message to course management, you're missing out on $$$ and providing a better experience for the player.
Great value
Played Jekyll courses many times, pine lakes is my fav. Well maintained & friendly staff
Nice Island Golf
My wife and I were staying in St Simons for a couple of days and this was the best golf value around, Got paired up with a couple of very nice local folks and had a great round. The deer grazing beside the 3rd tee just added to the morning. Not the hardest course around but a great time.
Surpassed my expectations
I've heard/read mixed reviews about Jekyll Is courses. So, as a first timer, it def surpassed my expectaions. Shape of the course (Pine Lakes) was great! Really enjoyed holes# 17 & 18!
Very fair course. The only drawback is the drive to Jekyll Is from Savannah and the trafiic at the 'toll' station where you have to pay $6 parking fee.
Good course and value
Fun layout, good condition, good value overall. Will play again for sure.
Great Course
We played Pine Lakes right after we played Indian Mound. Deceptively challenging course. A lot of areas look more open than they really are. Luckily, I caught almost every good bounce off the trees. Greens could use some improvement (some bumpiness and spots where it wasn't so green). Lots of wildlife (deer, racoons, etc.) that was not afraid of people which made it even more unique and enjoyable
great course
I've played all three Jekyll courses over the past few years. Always in great shape, nice true greens. Will continue to play here for years to come
Great course for the money
Nice wide open course. Saw 4 deer, lots of birds and a gator, but no houses. The natural feel to this course made a perfect get away. Course was well kept. Staff was phenomenal. We drive 2 hours to play this course and were not disappointed. Water doesn't come in to play very often.
Hot but Fun!
It was much warmer than I would have liked but the course was in great shape, the pace of play was good and the patty melt and beer that followed were a welcome end to the day! The only hazard we visited was the gator by the tee box on 18.
Pretty environment
cost effective...Never would have played without Golfnow rates...!!!!
FLETC student
Great course with a big discount for FLETC students. I played as a single on a Saturday at 2 pm and I was finished my 18 holes by 5pm. I found the course to be challenging and fun to play. I enjoyed the wide open fairways. On bit of caution; the hazards on this course can kill you if your shot placement is poor. Overall, my experience was plesent.
One of three Gems at Jekyll Island
One of the 3 Gems at Jekyll Island that showcases Georgia's coastal golf. Pine Lakes Course is one of 3 courses at Jekyll Island. These courses get a lot of play and still maintain excellent playing conditions and a friendly atmosphere.
It also is a great value and offers multiple tee boxes for all levels including youth and beginners.
It was unfortunate for us that no Marshall was on the course to enforce pace of play and "groups" joining up playing 6-8 somes.
(tournament- outing occurrence)
Will we return? Yes!! Just next time we'll call the starter.
Best of the 3
Pine Lakes is the better of the three 18 hole course at Jekyll. Moderately difficult, very well maintained, classic southern coastal layout. It poured down rain the night and morning before I played but the fairways and greens drained nicely. I think I only contended with two soggy spots on the course in 18 holes. Only negative point I have and this is generally speaking for the entire complex, don't shut down the 19th hole so ridiculously early on a Saturday. I was done playing at 3p and my father and I wanted to grab a couple of beers and lunch. No such luck, bar and grill were closed. We weren't the only ones looking to enjoy the 19th hole either. We went to SeaJays instead. Great place for an after round meal if the clubhouse at the course is closed.
It was so nice to return and visit Jekyll Island after 30 years. We enjoyed our round of golf . The staff was so outgoing from beginning to end. The course has some beautiful scenic scene . I totally recommend you to play a round ,it is well worth it
Very great experience
We got a good rate from Golf Now. The 63 hole complex was very busy when we arrived. Anticipated a rushed feeling, however it was a very relaxed round of play. The course was in great shape. We will have to play Jekyll again.
Incredible Value!
Can't beat the courses on Jekyll Island for the price. Beautiful scenery with a laid back, relaxed atmosphere. Courses in great condition. Can't wait to have a weekend golf getaway with friends. Two thumbs up!
Nicer than expected
Jeckyll Island hasn't been on my list of places to go. My son had received a gift of a round of golf for two. So, my two sons played free golf while a paid but it was worth the drive (Jacksonville) and price. It was in nice shape and was a lot of fun. I liked it because it was like courses I played years ago when I first played.
One of the most picturesque courses played.
This was the second time I played Pine Lakes. Joined up with a couple so we were a threesome. The play seemed slow, we had small waits on every hole but still played it in 4:15.
What happened is that we had the time to really look around at each hole and enjoy the scenery. Hole after hole had just enough change to see something new. Just all around beautiful picturesque scenes
that made the day enjoyable just to be outside with the golf the icing on the cake..
