Applewood Golf Course

Very forgiving course to play. Hard to get in too much trouble off the tees on many holes. Played in late March so the fairways had understandably not grown out yet. They were fine for that time of year though. One hole was pretty rough (#10) with a mostly sanding fairway (maybe result of hurricane last Fall) but most other fairways were pretty good. Greens looked pretty good for this time of the year but they did not roll true in most cases - a bit too bumpy.

Overall, we had a great time, people were very friendly and I'd definitely recommend this course for the average golfer.

PS: One last comment, we went here as we saw this course listed as top 20 public courses in Georgia - it should not be listed a top 20 public course.

My wife and I were visiting a

Coal state park for a week and had the chance to play 9 at the course. The staff were so friendly that we changed our pkans so we could squeeze in 18. We made it through 9 and were rained out. The staff provided us with a rain check for the back 9 and arranged a great time the next day for us to play the back 9. We will be back in the future and will share the name of this course with our friends that luckily get drawn for Masters tickets. Great course with great people.

We really enjoy playing this course. It's well taken care of with a nice layout and friendly staff. It's also a very reasonable price! Definitely worth the drive!

While it’s not the National, you will not get treated better anywhere. It’s hard with all of the rain but I a know they are working on it more than other courses I was a member of and did no improvements. Greens are tricky and fast if it’s dry. Have fun.

The course is in really good shape. The greens are very good right now and the Hot Deal price was great.

Considering it is March, course was in good shape. Greens were fast. Pin placements were ragged though. Overall a good deal for the price. We will definitely go back if we are in the area.

With its wide fairways this course makes for an enjoyable round. Course is in good condition and gets lots of play.

No puddles or bare spots, course played firm and greens putted true. Laid back, gas carts, Full grill with friendly staff. For the price this was a sweet experience!

I saw the tee times on line. After reviewing the reviews, I decided to book the course. I was disappointed by the course conditions, understanding that it is a Bermuda course, but conditions were sub par in my opinion. Several of the greens had damage on the outer areas, which need addressing. I think the course could be really nice after they get it back in decent shape. I would add that the staff is so nice and pleasant, I was reluctant to write this review.
