Laurel Island Links

About
The 18-hole Laurel Island Links in Kingsland, Georgia is a public golf course that opened in 1996. This design by PGA Tour player Davis Love III is quite remarkable. Laurel island resides on the banks of the vast Crooked River marsh that provides a stunning backdrop for holes two, three, and six.
The second nine roams inland working toward a secluded section of pine forest. The course is softly shaped and tinged in gentle southern atmosphere, opened in 1997. There is a light touch and quiet interaction with nature. You can play a beautiful, meditative golf at Laurel Island Links Laurel Island is approximately 25 minutes north of Jacksonville, FL. From Jacksonville take I-95 north to Georgia exit 6 and head east for two miles. Laurel Island Parkway will be on the left.

Fun course and decent value
Few of the greens have the black sludge on them, all the fairways were great, level tee boxes (1 was extremely overgrown, otherwise fine). Would play again for being 30 minutes from my house. Slightly overpriced for a Sunday round in south GA.
Booking Confusion
I looked on Golf Now and saw there were tee times available at 10:05 @ $40. We wanted to play earlier so I called the pro shop. After discussion with the person handling the call, we decided to book at the Golf Now tee time. She told me she could handle for me.
When we checked in we discovered our rate was $54. When I questioned the rate, the gentleman in the pro shop was insistent that our rate was $54 and that there was no such thing as a $40 Golf rate. I even showed him the rate on the Gold Now app. He still insisted our rate was $54. Rather than continuing to deal with is overbearing obnoxious person, we went ahead and paid the $54 rate.
Guess lesson learned... when booking a Golf Now tee time, do it yourself rather than trusting the shop staff to do it as promised. Plus the golf staff needs to learn what rates are being offered for their own course
Great Value
Fun wide open course. Fairways in excellent condition with greens in good condition. Great value for the buck.
Don’t know what to put on pace of play had a member of the course a woman cuss me out and we were waiting on the people ahead of us all of a sudden a woman was coming up on four grown men just acting a fool the starter handled it great to me had a great time but if you’re in a hurry pick another time to play golf and don’t go cussing anybody man or woman
Tees and fairways
Tees and fairways were nice - greens a little spotty - still putted decent
Needs Some Work
The sand traps were unplayable. Fairways were good, greens: some good, some very poor. This course needs some work to bring it back to a high quality.
Not in good shape
Not playable at all. Certainly not worth more than $25 a round.
Well cared for Course
All around wonderful round of golf. Thanks to everyone at Laurel Links!
Great Course Overall
Love playing here but as all other courses ownership changes and prices increased almost $20. Only downfall is course does not drain especially on the greens which causes them to lose parts of their greens every year. There isn’t enough wrong with the place to where you would have a bad time with your buds though.
Greens are really lacking
Not worth the money to play here. Greens are in terrible shape, allow walkers early in the day which slows up pace of play.
Staff is friendly.
Great Value
Great Value. There are some beautiful holes. Greens are okay.
Great course overall
Aside from a few greens that were pretty bad the only other thing was the sand traps were like concrete. Other then that the course is great.
Nice course - still early
Enjoyed the course a lot. The fairways were in excellent condition. The greens especially in the back nine were a bit rough but I would expect them to fill in as summer approaches. Decent layout. I would not be surprised if the course conditions improved in the near future. Would play this course again.
