Collins Hills Golf Club is a little known course to outsiders, but it is a local favorite. The traditional parkland layout tumbles across a rolling terrain. The golf course features small, undulating greens and narrows fairways bordered by towering trees. The layout demands accuracy especially with the numerous sand bunkers that have been incorporated into the design. Several ponds and lakes are scattered across the course, coming into play on seven holes. The layout has its challenges but it is still gentle enough to accommodate a variety of different skill levels. Before playing, golfers can warm up on the driving range or utilize the other practice facilities. Collins Hills Golf Club's atmosphere definitely plays a role in the club's popularity, offering all of the amenities of a private club with a casual and friendly setting

Punishing

Worst course conditions ever played. Fairways hard uneven undulating dried out very little grass. Tree roots all along fairways and in cart paths. In places, cart path no pavement just gravel and chunks of old paving with ruts. It was a terrible round. Not enjoyable. Greens were sanded some good others not so good. In my opinion, this course is due for a complete renovation.

Need to improve ammenities to keep higher price

Reservation was fine, the guy handling cash register in was just not a pleasant demeanor, very few golfers on the course. Marshall was a nice, many of the tee boxes need work, dirt, sand hard pack. greens were average, and some were very rough.. there were exactly two hot dogs when we made the turn, no cups for ice, they had handmade some turkey sandwiches which were marked exp 2/23, we were there 2/17. So take a risk...seems very cheaply run for price of greens, we will not return

Tight fairways

The facilities and staff were great. It was a little dry so things rolled out quite bit more/ tight fairways. 18 was in disarray. But pretty for the most part.

Terrible Greens

I would not recommend this course in its current state. Paid over $70 to play at course that had absolutely terrible greens, terrible cart paths, and golf shop staff that was not very friendly at all.

Course is in rough shape

This course is in rough shape and not worth the money. The players do not fix ball marks and overall the course is in poor condition.

Basic golf, but overall fair at best

Very convenient, and I got a decent deal through Golfpass. Having said that, course overall in pretty rough shape in spots, even for winter conditions. Lots of bare spots and rough, hilly terrain. Cart paths need a lot of work. Many tee boxes had little turf and sand traps often had more dirt than sand. Fortunately, the greens were in decent shape with lots of subtle contours. Layout is okay with a few funky holes.

Was not a great day for golf

I haven’t played Collins hill in about a year, and I don’t think I will ever go back. Some of my buddies wanted to play there because it was closer to where they lived. The weather was perfect after the first hole. Every hole was about 10 to 15 minute wait at the tea box due to being bogged down the entire day teetimes are split seven minutes apart for groups of four when it should be about 15 minutes apart it seems that the club is more concerned about. Booking teetimes, then players enjoying a good pace of play.

Mismanaged disaster

I have played this course thru the years many times. It just keeps getting worse. There is no grass on the tee boxes. It is like every tee shot is from a bunker. The green are the worse you will ever see on a course charging over $10. It is a real shame. I live less than a mile from the course and drive much further to play corse that are cheaper and way better maintained.

Horrible

People in pro shop were mean. Cart paths were horrible and the greens had holes in it and the greens had sand piles in the middle of them. Do not recommend anyone playing there price is insane Harrison course. No one on the course knows golf etiquette. Golf carts are horrible. Way overpriced pro shop is embarrassing zero bathrooms on course no water stations house in middle of course. No drainage 4 stations at driving range.

Recommend golfing somewhere else

I would not recommend this golf course due to its poor overall upkeep. The course is not well maintained, and the fairways and greens are in very rough condition, which significantly affects the quality of play. Additionally, considering the price being charged, the experience is overpriced and does not reflect the condition of the course. For the cost, I expected a much higher standard of maintenance. I would strongly recommend golfing elsewhere for a better overall experience.
