About
Collins Hills Golf Club is a little known course to outsiders, but it is a local favorite. The traditional parkland layout tumbles across a rolling terrain. The golf course features small, undulating greens and narrows fairways bordered by towering trees. The layout demands accuracy especially with the numerous sand bunkers that have been incorporated into the design. Several ponds and lakes are scattered across the course, coming into play on seven holes. The layout has its challenges but it is still gentle enough to accommodate a variety of different skill levels. Before playing, golfers can warm up on the driving range or utilize the other practice facilities. Collins Hills Golf Club's atmosphere definitely plays a role in the club's popularity, offering all of the amenities of a private club with a casual and friendly setting

FUN COURSE!
Overall the course was good. The price is right, and the fairways/bunkers are well taken care of. It is still early in the season, so the greens are coming in, and there was a bit of sand. Employees are friendly, and the course is a bit challenging due to tree lined fairways, sloping fairways, and growing greens. If there was one thing I could think of that I would improve on is the back-9 cart paths. They have been worn by the weather, but overall, I would play this course again! Thank you,

Greens and Cartpath
Greens were recently aerated which is to be expected but some of them have hugh dug out places. Impossible to putt.
Cartpaths were so rough had to go around many areas.

Nice staff, but greens need work
I chose to play Collins Hill as it is very convenient. The layout itself is short but fairly interesting, with plenty of elevation changes, sloping fairways, "hidden" creeks, and quasi-blind shots. Local knowledge is vital to score well. Unfortunately most of the greens are not in very good condition. Lots of bumpy patches and bare spots. I really hope they can repair them over the summer. Pace of play was about as expected for a weekend afternoon, about 4.5 hours for a foursome.

Too expensive for the course conditions.
Almost all of the greens have large bald or sandy spots that make it impossible to have consistent putting throughout a round. The greens and t boxes are also overly close together leading to several close calls for the group in front of us and us from the group behind us.

A little beat up
Good course for the price. The greens are in pretty rough shape and they really need to repave the cart paths. Undriivable in a few places

Too slow
The course is in fair shape, but greens are in poor shape. Too slow pace left after 6 holes and 2 hours and 15 minutes

Not bad not the greatest
Do not pay over $30 for this course. Some greens are not even a green with dead spots and in even areas. They place pins in the better parts of the green. Layout it pretty good and scoring can happen. Staff is nice. Carts are gassed and need a little patience when driving. When on the “greens” put hard.

Course conditions bad
The course is in very bad conditions, from tee boxes all the way to the greens. Greens are so bad they are unplayable. Very disappointed with up keep of course.

Poor Greens
This is the second time playing at Collin’s Hill. Overall the course is okay. What needs a lot of work are the greens. Sandy and patchy grass with a lot of divots make for terrible putting conditions. A few sand traps had water sitting in it despite not having rain for 3 days. The cart paths were destroyed. Often bumpy or not there. The price was the only reason I came back but might spend the extra ten dollars elsewhere next time to ensure better playing conditions.

Poor course condition
The course was poorly maintained, and greens were missing large areas of grass. In certain areas you would have to put from grass to bearing ground back to Grass again.
The pace of play was so bad that at certain points four to five groups would be on a tee box waiting. After the front nine the pro shop and the Marshall were informed of this. The Marshall felt the need to sit in front of the pro shop and continue to flirt with the car girl instead of trying to make the experience for the golfers to be more enjoyable or to have a reasonable round. 5 hours is not an acceptable pace of play on a $50 golf course. With that being said the cart girl only came around three times in those five hours.
With all that being said the employees inside the pro shop are quite friendly and overall a joy to speak to. Unfortunately with the experience being lackluster with the Marshall and the pace of play and the conditions that the course is in I cannot wholeheartedly recommend this for anyone to waste their money to come out to play.
