About
Collins Hills Golf Club is a little known course to outsiders, but it is a local favorite. The traditional parkland layout tumbles across a rolling terrain. The golf course features small, undulating greens and narrows fairways bordered by towering trees. The layout demands accuracy especially with the numerous sand bunkers that have been incorporated into the design. Several ponds and lakes are scattered across the course, coming into play on seven holes. The layout has its challenges but it is still gentle enough to accommodate a variety of different skill levels. Before playing, golfers can warm up on the driving range or utilize the other practice facilities. Collins Hills Golf Club's atmosphere definitely plays a role in the club's popularity, offering all of the amenities of a private club with a casual and friendly setting

It was golf
Course had a cool layout and great staff.. pace of play was poor with having groups walking in front of groups with carts. There wasn’t much normal golf grass on the course and the green were in rough shape. Unlikely to play this course until major improvements are made with the playing surface.
Greens Need A LOT of work
Collins Hill has always been somewhat of goat track so I didn’t have my hopes up going into this round, especially paying $37. Sadly, even with low expectations, it was a big disappointment. The greens are in horrible shape. Just imagine asphalt spray painted green. This alone made the day a painful experience. Top that with crappy fairways and broken cart paths, and you’re in for a rough day. The saving grace of the round was the nice weather and friendly staff. Unfortunately I probably won’t be returning. Just not worth any amount of money. Hope they can fix this place up as the layout has the potential to be a pretty fun course.

Worst course I’ve played in my life.
Carts are like they are in the 1960’s. Loud gas carts that are barely running. Fairways looked like they haven’t had rain in 20 years and was hard as a rock. The cart paths will give you whiplash and the greens have no grass on them, just spongy fungus that is impossible to put on. Worst course I’ve played by far. Not even worth the $35 I paid to play.

I’ve been playing Collins Hill atleast once a week the past few months or so, the course conditions and overall shape is really starting to improve dramatically compared to what it was just a month ago. Only real complaint is the cart path on the back 9 could use some work, otherwise it is a good tricky course for the money

Poor conditions, like playing on concrete
Collins Hill offers a number of elevation changes which can be challenging in it’s own right but what makes it almost unplayable are the concrete like conditions. Good luck getting any sort of feel or touch around the greens... it’s been extremely wet and rainy to start the year in Atlanta but the conditions at Collins Hill are very poor. I understand Collins Hill is a cheaper option within Atlanta but I don’t think I’ll be coming back to this course...

Great course but it can be better
I love to play here bc of the pace and the greens are in a much better conditions than before. 15 hole is the worst one and if they can fixe the muddy conditions on this hole it will make it so much enjoyable. Other than that is really good.

Tight layout
This is an older municipal course, I was a little worried when I went to the driving range and the targets were barrels, and then the practice green left much to be desired.
But once I got onto the course I was pleasantly surprised, the greens were in good shape, there were a couple that needed some attention.
The layout offered a variety of possible shots , driver off the tee or an iron and would allow you to play whichever way was going good.
Price was decent under $40 for a Saturday morning round:

Improving
The course was at an all time low about 5 yrs ago, but they've done improvements slowly every year since and its now much better. The greens, while slow, are in very good shape. The course layout is tight, its forces you to hit it straight on virtually every hole or risk serious trouble. Perfect course to play if you're looking to hone in on accuracy especially off the tee.
