Collins Hill Golf Club

I paid for 18 I played 10. Was paired with hackers and went home angry. Par 3 16 which is now 7, 191 from the blue tee has an overhanging tree that needs to be cut. It's the closest golf course to my house, but I rather play the Trophy of Appalchee Club. I never have a good time at Collins Hill even when I'm just practicing. They need to quit overbooking.

Need to replace cart paths--lot of pot holes and holes.

I hit High Launch clubs and the red clay just made my club slide and hit it fat almost every fairway shot. Decent course. Starter is kinda stiff.

The cart paths are in desperate need of repair. I think I lost a kidney out there. The Greens are not in the best shape, this might be because nobody repairs their ball marks. All in all not a bad place when you consider that Gwinnett County owns it and I only paid $24 to play.

Five miles from my house and I will never play this course again. Greens are ok, buts that all. Fairways are thin and not much grass growing, but the big problem is rough has been replaced by hardpan and ruts with nothing to stop ball from all the run offs this course has. Still no sand in bunkers and cart paths will cause severe back issues. Paid only 17 dollars on a hot deal and felt like I got taken. Poor excuse for a golf course.

I have not played here in some time but I wanted to get a different look from what I have had lately. I would definitely play here again. the fairways could use a little fill in. I know it is just coming back but there are areas that are bare and will be bare tomorrow. There are some challenging holes and all of the greens are in good shape. Get a hot deal and it is surely worth it.

Decided to try this course as haven't played it in years. Didn't expect great conditions, as a very wet winter has caused many courses to suffer. However, no having sand in bunkers is inexcusable. It seems they have switched front nine and back nine, but signage is messed up and hard to know if you are playing the right holes. Finally, there was a "frost delay" and a huge crowd waiting to tee off when we arrived, and they didn't even have enough keys for the carts. Not well organized at all. A positive was that the greens were very puttable, and probably the best part of the course.

Tee time was around noon, and I arrived a half hour early. Upon arrival I found a group of about 30 golfers waiting to tee off. This was a scramble tournament that was supposed to tee off before 11 am. I asked about the delay, and the Pro Shop attendant (who was very rude) said the delay was due to "frost" (at 11 am?). Instead of doing a shotgun start (the entire course was open), they started the scramble foursomes one at a time, with 10-15 minute intervals! Needless to say, we didn't tee off until well in the afternoon - which pretty much wasted our day. Pro Shop guy had more concern with the course conditions than his customers. Also - drop out of the sand traps - no sand.

Great course to work on your game. Track is not long but there is a cost for not keeping ball in fairway off the tee. Greens are in excellent condition and are a challenge. Meet sand in the bunkers and it becomes a five star course.

My son and I have always enjoyed Collins Hill. It's a good value for the money. I don't expect the quality of an exclusive private golf course, but it's a fun course with several challenging holes.

The course is a little rough and the greens are very slow. The price was fair but not great.

Overall a nice layout. Wet areas, rough spots in fairway and needs sand in traps. Rolling fairways require shot placement. Greens rolled very smooth.

Great course to work on course management you really need to place ball in certain areas to score well. Greens are very difficult. You can score well because course is not long but is narrow on certain holes.

First, the course again is decent for the amount of money you pay. It is a good value course, the layout is decent, a good mixture of long and short holes, and the greens are what make the course challenging. Outside of that, do not expect great customer service. The staff is rarely friendly, in fact you rarely see a smile or a greeting from the check in desk or the starter. They also are very bad when it comes managing the tee sheet. Often times, they will put a single behind groups of 4 and not try to pair them with others, hence if you are stuck behind some members get ready for a 4+ hour round. No marshals to keep groups moving, and no "cart girl" or mobile refreshments. My recommendation is that if you go there to play, bring your own drinks (not in coolers), and make sure you are free the rest of the day.

I play this course when I want to work on certain areas of my game. You can not bomb driver and go, it requires some shot making skills. If you don't know how to put your ball in the fairway and sometimes on the correct side of the fairway then you will have a very tough time. The greens are in a way better condition than what they used to be. Granted there are two holes where it is severely undulated and will roll of the green if hit to hard (hole 4 & 5) but that is all apart of the fun. So go out there if you want a challenging course where driver is not the only club you get to use off the tee.

The greens are in need of some serious work. Some are so slanted that just touching the ball would send it off the green and down a hill, just crazy.

A lot of bare, muddy spots on fairway. Haven't been here in a couple years due to poor condition. I then read in a magazine how it's better, just not the case. I will not be back.

Some greens were so slanted that just touching the ball would send it off the green and down a hill. Staff was very non caring of the customers. Almost like you were a burden, forcing them to work. Only friendly one was the original starter. At end, guy collecting the carts did not say a word, just grabbed the cart and left.

It was a great round of golf.
The course is well maintained. The pace of play was perfect.
My seven year old was greeted with a smile and we were treated so well by the staff and other players.
It was my third time there and I will be going back!
