Mystery Valley Golf Club
About
Mystery Valley Golf Club encompasses 230 acres of gently rolling land that ranges from dense forests of towering Georgia pines to grassy meadows covered in acres of colorful wildflowers. Mystery Valley is known for both the beautiful scenery on the course itself and the stunning views from the elevated tees. There are two lakes and a pond that dot the course, coming into play on three holes. At just over 6,700 yards, the layout features some long holes but it will also test your short game with strategically placed bunkers around the fast, medium-sized greens. There is an interesting variety of holes including several winding par 5s and the watery and treacherous 15th hole, which is considered one of Atlanta's most challenging par 4s. The more challenging elements of Mystery Valley Golf Club are balanced by the generous, player-friendly fairways.

experienced much improved green. still bunker is short of sand.
I had played two or three times in this course. In that time I thought this course is not much of 20 bucks value. But, at this time, I was amazed at much improved green condition. Still, lots of bunker are needed sand...
Not my favorite course
My review is a bit jaded as I used to play here alot but haven't in 5 or so years...i hadnt missed much...pace of play was very slow...waiting on every tee and fairway...this course just doesnt set up well for me ..either that or its gotten into my head...just never score well here and end up usually frustrated. So i won't be returning anytime in the near future
Dekalb County nicest county course
Course is in great condition and well maintain for a county course. Their are only two friendly golf professionals in the pro shop, the General Manager and one of the other golf professional are not cordial or friendly at all. I will continue to play there because I am a county resident and the course is no more than 10 minutes from my home.
The fairway condition was good, but green was not good because of aerification.
The overall condition of the course was fine. I played at blue tee, and it was a little bit tough for me. But I really enjoyed my play at the Mystery Valley Golf Club. I'll play again near soon.
This course has great features. It is the Best Public Golf Course in the Metro Atlanta Area

Great condition and we enjoyed our first visit to this course.
We will return to this course again this year. The staff was very friendly and they must have a great maintenance crew.
Course in great condition, pace of play was a problem though.
All things considered, this was a good value for the money. However, pace of play was a big problem. The guy in front of us was playing 3 or 4 balls per hole and the foursome in front of him wouldn't let him play through. When we finally called the clubhouse to get someone to say something, they just blamed the foursome but didn't say anything to them.
The course was in excellent shape
Shot making is required on this course. It's open, however the uneven lies will test your game. You have to put the ball in the right place to score well.
Good Public course
I decided to play this course yesterday on a whim (partially because I have been seeing commercials for it). I played for $12 because of a hot deal. It was completely worth it. I played alone and i finished in 3.5 hours. I am sure if I was playing with 1 or 2 others we would have hit the 4 hour mark. There was no one out there to keep pace, but it wasn't really needed. Overall, I enjoyed my round here. I felt as if the fairways were pretty dang open and the greens were well taken care of. If you live around the area, I live downtown so it wasn't too bad of a drive, try out this course.
Even After 6 Days of Rain, This Course Is Still Excellent
This is a very well maintained course and always has very subtle challenges. No tricks or gimmicky holes. A lot of wholes look benign and easy, but you experience plenty of uneven lies which leaves you fighting for par instead of that birdie you were counting on. This has been a very wet summer and even after 6 consecutive days of rain, we could still play the ball "down". Beautiful to look at, and challenging to play.
One of the Best Courses in Atlanta
If you only play one public course in Atlanta, this is the one for you.
They always seem to get it right when it comes to the greens, Just enough holes to make it challenging but still a lot of fun to play
Changed my mind!
I haven't played this course in over 15 years and had bad memories from then so I didn't want to return...time has been very good to this course...fairways and greens in good shape.
this old course just getting better
Added yardages make this golf course a little more challenging, the greens are in good shape, fairways are well maintained even with all the recent rain, the pace was great on late weekday play.
Good course, great value
We had fun and the course was in great shape, save for some greens divots not repaired by those in front of us, or from days before. Great value. Only other thing we weren't expecting was to be paired with another twosome, though that's not that big of a deal.
Could be so much better
Nice layout for the course, but wasn't real happy with my experience. The tee times were stacked pretty close together, which lead to a massive backup at the 15th hole. The pro shop attendant wasn't very personable. The greens were wildly inconsistent with speed. Cigarette butts were all over the course. Rocks in most sand traps.
Course could be one of the best in the metro area, but there are too many better courses right now for similar prices.
Decent shape for heavy play
Hadn't played Mystery Valley in many years. Forgot how challenging some holes can be. Played whites at 6300 which seemed long on Par 4s. Lots of hills here, but course in very good shape. Greens would be excellent if players would be considerate. Obvious someone wore spikes. Repaired 4-5 ball marks on many greens. Greens played at moderate speed. All in all, pretty good experience but heavy play makes this a tough tee time to find at decent hours.
Fun course for all skill levels, in good shape
Course from tee box to green in good shape. Have a good afternoon price going on now. People @ course nice to deal with. Do suggest to emphasize repairing pitch marks on greens
Fantastic!
Great course and a super good value for the money. I had never played this course, and was amazed at how good of condition it was in being that the southern HEAT can really take a toll on courses. Jumped out there and flew around the course with no problems. I had played Southland - which is next door (run down course - bad shape) - so I was a little reluctant as I thought Mystery Valley would be in similar condition - but was pleasantly surprised to find the course in GREAT condition.
This course only had 9 holes open
Review has less to do with the condition of the course and more to do with the fact that we had to play the back 9 twice as the front was closed. This detail was omitted from your website even thought the course said the alerted you to this fact. This is the second time this has happened to me and I never get any kind of recompense from the course as they always say they've notified Golf Now. If it's only playing 9 holes - you have to publish that and let me make the decisiion with my money of whether or not to play there.
pace of play is always a problem here
