Mystery Valley Golf Club encompasses 230 acres of gently rolling land that ranges from dense forests of towering Georgia pines to grassy meadows covered in acres of colorful wildflowers. Mystery Valley is known for both the beautiful scenery on the course itself and the stunning views from the elevated tees. There are two lakes and a pond that dot the course, coming into play on three holes. At just over 6,700 yards, the layout features some long holes but it will also test your short game with strategically placed bunkers around the fast, medium-sized greens. There is an interesting variety of holes including several winding par 5s and the watery and treacherous 15th hole, which is considered one of Atlanta's most challenging par 4s. The more challenging elements of Mystery Valley Golf Club are balanced by the generous, player-friendly fairways.

Pushed tee times too far

Had booked a 1:30 tee time on a Saturday. Once we arrived the clubhouse pushed my tee time back to just before 2:30 due to having a shotgun tournament going on and we weren’t able to even finish eighteen holes before they closed the course and told us to leave. Absolute waste of money.

They need somebody around the course to keep the pace.

Awful pace, people hitting 2, 3 balls every time. Almost 3 hours front 9. Didn't finish the round.

Need to manage tee times better or marshal slow play and backing up.

Solid course

Every time I play here it never disappoints. Green and tee boxes are good and course maintained. There are several trees still down from hurricane helene. They’ve done their best to mark them off or cut them where it may impact the cart path. Other than that the course is in excellent condition.

The Valley

Played 10/17. Greens were in pretty good shape - they were fast and undulated. Pins were on hills resulting in a number or three putts. Fairways and tee boxes were beat up. Numerous trees down in fairways and many areas marked as unplayable. Bunkers were OK. Rough was thick and grass was sparse making for some pretty bad lies. Carts have to be in by 6:30.

First, and last, time.

Greens were very good. Fairways were good. Tee boxes were mostly good. Overall condition was pleasing. Not much choice of snacks and drinks in the clubhouse, which was disappointing. Now about the layout. Hated it. The majority of holes have you tee-ing off to a downward sloping fairway which bottoms out and then there is an upslope to the green. So, many times you have a downhill lie for your second shot to an uphill green. Over and over and over. The fairways all, with maybe one or two exceptions, have lots of side slope, so the ball tends to be above your feet or below your feet. Couple that with downhill lies to uphill greens and you have a high level of difficulty for the average golfer out there. To be fair, there tends to be a good bit of room to err with your tee shots on most holes without being penalized unduly. However, I won't play at this course again.
