Mystery Valley Golf Club

First time playing the course in almost 30 years. The fairways were fast and firm. The greens were plush and a little slow, but in great condition for the summer heat. Keep it in the fairway or the rough will gobble it up. I’ll be back soon.

I’ve played this course a number of times and the condition continues to improve. Played 8/2 and the greens were in solid shape, albeit a bit long and slow (which I don’t personally mind). Overall, the l’atout is fun and challenging, and the grass really is in excellent shape.

Unfortunately, this course suffers from the modern plight of overbooking, and unfortunately it seems that a majority of the golfers here do not have a solid grasp of course etiquette, specifically when it comes to pace of play. Rounds repeatedly take nearly 5 hours to complete because of having to wait on nearly every hole for the golfers ahead to clear away.

On top of all this, the staff here is unhelpful and best, and downright rude at worst. I’ve had a number of interactions with on and off-duty members of the staff of this course that left me feeling confused and sometimes downright disrespected. I really wish I was treated a bit more respectfully by the people who work here, and I wish they were able to provide me a bit more info before I start the round, other than saying “Look at the sign” and walking away.

With all that being said, I will be back to play again as I quite enjoy the course and have always had a positive impression of the layout and conditions. It’s pretty hard to beat for the price.

Course is in really nice shape. Love playing Mystery Valley.

Golf course greens are poorly maintained and the birds poo is disrupting the green

DeKalb resident over 60. $43 for green fee and cartons spectacular. Terrific layout. Some blind shots off the tees but nothing unfair at all. Have to hit a lot of different shots and shot shapes and the redone greens are coming along beautifully.

Can’t recommend this place enough. Great course and terrific staff and pace of play was just fine for the day before July 4

Only negative is the food service inside. Very limited options but I had my own uncrustables so…./problem solved.

Very slow greens, hardly any sand in bunkers and many weeds arounds. The county can spend some money ad make this place much better. The cart paths are broken in many places and makes riding hard and uncomfortable. Will NOT play here again!!

Always a fun track to play. They redid all the greens in 2023 and the results are excellent! A pretty dry summer so far has led to a few dried out/rougher areas, but overall the course in fine shape. Tee boxes in reasonably good condition given the amount of play. Lots of variety of holes and elevation changes to keep you interested.

Loved the course layout. Elevation changes and view were awesome. One complaint I would have is that I wish there be regular greens and not thick grass. Putting was the deal breaker for me. If this course would have regular greens, this would be the only course I would ever play.

It is a bit of a drive for me but it's absolutely worth it. This is a great course and great value for the money!

They need a Marshall to oversee the golf course. The back nine was a nightmare. We stoppedat the club house to get a bit to eat. A hot dog and chips was $9. Will never eat there again.
