About
Conveniently situated between Athens and Lawrenceville, the Providence Club has a scenic location stretching right along the Appalachee River that makes it feel much more like a getaway. The golf course has been considered one of northeast Georgia's best since opening in 1998. The layout takes advantage of the rolling terrain, incorporating elevated tees and uneven lies. The greens often feature slopes and undulations but they are fair and they roll true. They are also known for being excellently maintained. Mature trees frame many of the holes and there are several strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. Water doesn't come into play too often but the elevation changes will provide plenty of challenges. The golf course is player friendly enough to accommodate a wide range of skill levels with a few tricky holes to keep the round interesting.

Fun round
Great round for the $. Very fast greens, lush fairways, but rough was a bit heavy. Always enjoy a fine round here.

Consistent and well-groomed
Fairways and greens are well-maintained, greens are very consistent and roll true, no bumps or bounces. Course is challenging but average golfer can shoot a good score.

No real complaints
I had a good time playing the course. The greens were tough for me though, as I had 8-10 balls- no exaggeration- hit the side of the cup and not fall. Greens were also a little fast

First Time
Have been wanting to play this course for a while. Enjoyed the course. They had recently aerated but that didn't impact play. First few greens were a little rough in spots. Would like to play it again soon.

Providence Club Golf
Course was in good shape and I had my best round in over a year. Pace was a little slow and we managed to play through 3 groups. Green fee was a little steep...higher than I have probably ever paid here especially for a mid afternoon tee time. I do really like the layout and will continue to play here.

What happened to the greens?
The Providence Club greens are what got me coming back to this course many times over the last few years. It's a fifty minute drive for me, but I always thought it was worth it. But this year the greens are HORRIBLE. I would expect them to look like this in March maybe, never July especially after all the rain we've had. If I had to guess, they were over fertilized and burned. Equally concerning, no one wearing masks in the crowded club house bar. Not smart at all.

Solid course but has some gaps
This was my first time playing Providence Club. The tee boxes, fairways, and bunkers all seemed in really good shape. The greens were really bumpy and a bit shaggy. Several of the collars of the greens have been patched and not in great shape. The layout offers a lot of landing areas. Really enjoyed my time. That said, the bathrooms were not working, cart paths need to be repaved, and the greens are just not great. In spite of those weaknesses, I will definitely play the course again...the value is really solid.

1st time playing
First time playing this course. it was in fairly good shape. Cart paths in horrible shape they need to be repaved. Tee boxes and fairways in good shape and the greens were pretty good.
