About
Conveniently situated between Athens and Lawrenceville, the Providence Club has a scenic location stretching right along the Appalachee River that makes it feel much more like a getaway. The golf course has been considered one of northeast Georgia's best since opening in 1998. The layout takes advantage of the rolling terrain, incorporating elevated tees and uneven lies. The greens often feature slopes and undulations but they are fair and they roll true. They are also known for being excellently maintained. Mature trees frame many of the holes and there are several strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. Water doesn't come into play too often but the elevation changes will provide plenty of challenges. The golf course is player friendly enough to accommodate a wide range of skill levels with a few tricky holes to keep the round interesting.

Golf
Pace of play was slow it took 5 hours to play 18 holes because there was a 2some in front of us that had inappropriate golf deficit and didn’t know how to play the game and didn’t let anyone play thru like they should have but other than that I had a great experience at the course it was in great conditions considering how much rain we’ve had in the past week and the greens were in great shape in all the course was amazing definitely would go back and play again

All around good course
This course has quite a few straight holes and not much water. It’s challenging and enjoyable for a round of golf.

Fairly Short Course!
I'm normally a WHITE tees player, but played the BLUES this time....not much different length-wise...

Again great course I have played here a few times this year, the staff is awesome the course is in super shape and the pace of play was 4 hours 10 minutes. For a Saturday this is exactly what should happen.
If you are looking for a good course not crazy difficult but challenging go here

Good Course - One Issue
Like everything about Providence except one thing: tee times seem to get misplaced or out of order. I always arrive 45 minutes prior to my tee time. On a few occasions, we were required to start well before scheduled tee time, meaning no warmup. Happened to me last week. Proceeded to hit my tee shot on the first hole right of the airway and never found it. Proceeded to hit my next shot right of the green and never found it. Needless to say, I was infuriated. Cmon man, a tee time is a tee time. Arriving early to properly warm up helps speed up play. Honor the time - don,t punish me for arriving early!
