About
Conveniently situated between Athens and Lawrenceville, the Providence Club has a scenic location stretching right along the Appalachee River that makes it feel much more like a getaway. The golf course has been considered one of northeast Georgia's best since opening in 1998. The layout takes advantage of the rolling terrain, incorporating elevated tees and uneven lies. The greens often feature slopes and undulations but they are fair and they roll true. They are also known for being excellently maintained. Mature trees frame many of the holes and there are several strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. Water doesn't come into play too often but the elevation changes will provide plenty of challenges. The golf course is player friendly enough to accommodate a wide range of skill levels with a few tricky holes to keep the round interesting.

Best course in Monroe
Greens were fast and true. Fairways and tee’s were in great shape. Great layout. I would highly recommend. Great price as well.

Great staff and course
The first 5 holes we at a good pace then got behind a tournament that was very, very slow.

Excellent condition, good price...friendly staff
Grass is lush, greens are consistent, didn't notice any dead spots. Call ahead because they host a lot of tournaments.

Good course but not so friendly staffs
First time playing at this course. Good layout. Pretty good greens (surprisingly fast). Overall experience was good except the staff at the club house. Not so friendly person greeted me when I checked in.

Always great
This course is always in great shape. The greens right now are a little rough. Not all of them but about 5 or 6 of them. But still it’s a great course. Wide open

Green Aerating Season
Greens were aerated and dressed making putting very difficult to hold any kind of line outside of one foot from the cup. Course yardage is short but is still full of water and sandtrap hazards to make it interesting.

Great round after tons of rain.
After 5 inches of rain on Friday, I was wary of the possible condition of course. Kudos to the staff. It was very playable Saturday and we had a great time. Can they wait for the course to firm up later this spring. We will definite back. Great job.

Lazy or Incompetent Staff
Scheduled a tee time to play there at 2:40 after calling and talking to their “tee time” desk, was assured by this man that the course was open despite all the rain we had received. Drove over an hour to find out they were closed. Either the staff their is too dumb to figure out how to let their answering service know they are closed or they just don’t care. Probably a little of both.
