About
Conveniently situated between Athens and Lawrenceville, the Providence Club has a scenic location stretching right along the Appalachee River that makes it feel much more like a getaway. The golf course has been considered one of northeast Georgia's best since opening in 1998. The layout takes advantage of the rolling terrain, incorporating elevated tees and uneven lies. The greens often feature slopes and undulations but they are fair and they roll true. They are also known for being excellently maintained. Mature trees frame many of the holes and there are several strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. Water doesn't come into play too often but the elevation changes will provide plenty of challenges. The golf course is player friendly enough to accommodate a wide range of skill levels with a few tricky holes to keep the round interesting.

Hot deal
Course is in really good condition. greens were smooth and the rough is just starting to go dormant. Fairways actually had some roll out and was a nice time to play. It was so hot that no one was out. Lol Played 18 in just over 2.5 hours and was never held up at all.
Nice Course & NEW Carts
New Carts. Very nice. I really like this course. It has several challenging holes that require precise shots. Several high risk, high reward holes as well. I played on a Tuesday and there were four groups in front of me that were playing painfully slow. I know because I drove up to see what the hold-up was and found a full hole or two between the groups. They were standing around until it was their turn to putt and then walk around for several looks at their putt. Need a Marshall to drive through every few hours. I have played here before where this was not an issue. Other than that, it is well worth a try.

It was fun except, the members who was in front of us had young kids and they would drag way behind the players. There was only 2 players in my group and the one in front of us was alone other than the kids. He could’ve let us play through.

Confused
I’ve never seen a course in this good of shape that totally disregards their driving range and practice area. The course was great! The driving range looked like a war zone! Confused!

Course was great only negative thing was wanted to eat a later lunch and restaurant/bar employee had already left before 4 o’clock

Overpriced
Priced too high for early play. Other courses in the area are a much greater value with better conditions.

Nice elevation changes
I found the staff to be friendly, and the amenities were well coordinated. Other than the range being close the the 1st fairway, and I managed to avoid many divots in the fairway, the course was in decent shape. I really liked the elevation changes which made several par 4s almost drive-able. The greens had just been sanded, so it's a little difficult to rate them at this point, however, the greens were small which presented a challenge. An hour ride to get there, but I would recommend playing there.

As always super staff, course was a little wet had lots of rain the night before so played a little slow as expected.
Will be back soon highly recommend to any level of golfer they offer multiple T's plenty of fairway and options on what club to use of the T-box

I’ll be back again Providence Club
I am a golfer with a handicap of 10 this course challenged me just enough to hit birdies and also still those challenging dog legs that keeps great sticks tuned in. I will definitely be making another visit soon. Extremely friendly staff and great scenery!

Really enjoy
The layout is very open, the grass is consistent. It’s all green and beautiful. My only complaint is the greens were a bit fast. Had nobody behind us and nobody in front of us and it allowed us to take our time and really enjoy and focus on our game.
