Monroe Golf & Country Club
About
Monroe Golf & Country Club sprawls across gently rolling hills blanketed with mature hardwood forests. Opened in 1957, the course has a classic design that is playable for all skill levels but will still provide a challenge. The golf course is mostly flat but there are some subtly tricky elevation changes that can be found throughout. Pristine white sand bunkers contrast beautifully with the green of the course. Water hazards come into play on a few holes and towering trees line the fairways. The greens are fast and the rough can be punishing. It's a layout that demands accuracy but it's not overly difficult for the high handicapper. In addition to the golf course, Monroe also offers a large practice putting green and a driving range with a bunker.

Nice Course but Disappointing Overall
The positives were the course was very nice although a few greens were in rough shape and the traps were hit and miss. Pace was right at 4 hours but we waited on most shots. Zero Covid-19 precautions. They apparently have not heard of it. The staff member had that typical Golf Now attitude. My playing partner and I had planned on separate carts since we are neighbors and he is health challenged. But the staff told us they charged $20 each for separate carts. Never heard of a course charging $40 for one cart. If you have Covid concerns, avoid this course. Not sure why they use Golf Now if they don’t want the business. Disappointing.
Monroe in great shape.
Outstanding as always. Staff and Facilites top notch. Only issue is they have recently announced an increase in their guest fees. I drive the extra distance from Gwinnett county to play with member friends because it’s a great course at a fair rate. With the increase, and the covid blues, I may have to reduce that. Please reconsider the price increase.
Nice Saturday Afternoon
Played Monroe CC with my son. Excellent staff. Fairways were great but the greens need some TLC. Numerous ball marks on all greens. The pace of play was.very slow. Still got the round finished in four hours.. Other than that, we were paired with a nice gentleman and had a great time playing golf on a Saturday afternoon.
Monroe w/David
Great course, super staff, nice carts - only have one issue; players need to repair their ball marks and fix two others, and learn how to walk on greens without dragging their feet.
Course needs work
I don’t know how greens got so soft but every green is literally riddled with balls marks, many not repaired. Balls from normal approach shots gash the soft greens, tearing up grass. Areas surrounding greens are overgrown so balls actually disappear if just 6” off the apron. Many places have thick crabgrass immediately beside the fairway, too much penalty for shots slightly off. Won’t go back.
Excellent golf at Monroe golf and cc.
We has a great time and the golf course, as always, in magnificent shape. For the first time in several trips it became apparent that it may be time to bring the on course Marshals back. Pace of play slowed down a bit. Thanks.
Great tract
MG&CC was a terrific venue, challenging and nicely maintained. Only issue my entire group had was the maintenance of the rough-fairways were narrow(which is not a problem), however, rough was cut high-like U S Open rough, made missed fairways very time consuming, even unable to find couple of balls
Excellent playing conditions. Challenging rough. pace of greens moderate; but true

2nd time playing this month @ M.C.C
Course in great condition!!highly recommended
The course was in good shape....they had rain recently. Didn't get to finish........the bottom dropped out and we were forced to take a rain check for 9 holes. When we do go back and play to fulfill the rain check, we will pay for additional 9 holes and bring 2 others to join our foursome.
